2023 Kia Sonet Launched In India At Rs 7.79 Lakh – New Engines, Price Hike & More
Kia India has launched the 2023 Kia Sonet at Rs 7.79 lakh (ex-showroom, India). This latest iteration of the SUV features updated engine options and comes with revised prices as well.
Starting with the powertrain, the 2023 Kia Sonet SUV features updated engines that are now compatible with the upcoming RDE and BS6 Phase 2 emission regulations in the country. Furthermore, these newly updated engines are capable of running on E20 fuel as well.
That being said, the engine lineup remains the same as before with two petrol engine options and one diesel engine. The base 1.2-litre, naturally-aspirated petrol engine puts out 81.8bhp of power, 115Nm of torque and comes mated to a 5-speed manual transmission.
On the other hand, the second petrol powertrain option is a more powerful 1.0-litre, turbocharged unit with 118.4bhp of power and 172Nm of torque. Moreover, customers can choose either a 6-speed iMT or a 7-speed DCT gearbox with this powertrain.
Finally, the diesel version of the 2023 Kia Sonet continues to be powered by a 1.5-litre, turbocharged diesel engine with 115bhp of power and 250Nm of torque. However, Kia has replaced the 6-speed manual transmission with a 6-speed iMT unit, whereas the 6-speed automatic transmission continues to remain unchanged.
In terms of features, the model comes with features such as a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment unit, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, automatic climate control, digital instrument cluster, power adjustable rear view mirror, keyless entry, engine Start/Stop button, Cruise Control, rear AC vents, multi-function steering wheel and many more.
In addition to that, the newly introduced 2023 Kia Sonet SUV also comes well equipped in terms of safety features with the inclusion of safety systems such as dual airbags, ABS, EBS, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), auto headlamps, brake assist, rear parking camera and a few more.
In terms of pricing, all variants of the 2023 Kia Sonet SUV have been subjected to a price hike of Rs 50,000. As a result, the top-spec diesel variant of the SUV now costs Rs 14.89 lakh (ex-showroom, India).
