2023 Kia EV6 Bookings To Be Opened On April 15 – Availability Expanded To 60 Outlets

Kia India is all geared up to open bookings for the 2023 Kia EV6 and the bookings for the latest iteration of the South Korean electric crossover is scheduled to be opened on April 15.

In addition to that, the South Korean car manufacturer has also decided to expand the availability of the 2023 Kia EV6 in India by expanding its dealer network from 15 outlets in 12 cities to 60 outlets in 44 cities.

With the expanded dealer network, Kia India has also planned to install 150kW DC fast chargers at all of these dealerships. These new 150kW DC fast chargers are capable of charging the Kia EV6 batteries from 10 per cent to 80 per cent in just 42 minutes.

In comparison, the Kia EV6 crossover takes 73 minutes to charge from 10 per cent to 80 per cent using a less powerful 50kW DC charger - Resulting in 31 minutes increase in charging time compared to a 150kW fast charger.

That being said, the Kia EV6 received an overwhelming response from the public and the company delivered 432 units of the electric crossover in 7 months, which is approximately 4 times the originally planned allotment for India.

In terms of powertrain, the Kia EV6 GT Line is powered by a single PMSM electric motor with 226bhp of power and 350Nm of torque. On the other hand, the Kia EV6 GT Line AWD comes with two PMSM electric motors with a combined 321bhp of power and 605Nm of torque.

On top of that, both variants of the Kia EV6 come packed with a large 77.4kWh battery pack. Thanks to this large battery pack, the claimed range for the Kia EV6 electric crossover goes up to 708 kilometres under the ARAI test cycle.

In terms of performance figures, the Kia EV6 GT Line AWD can reach 100km/h from a standstill in just 3.5 seconds and attain a top speed of 260km/h. Also, safety systems include 8 airbags, ABS, ESC, electronic parking brake, ISOFIX child seats, Hill-Star Assist, ADAS and more.

Price-wise, the 2023 Kia EV6 prices start from Rs 60.95 lakh (ex-showroom, India) for the GT Line variant and Rs 65.95 lakh (ex-showroom, India) for the GT Line AWD variant.

By allocating more EV6 electric crossovers in India, Kia is further penetrating deeper into the growing premium EV segment in India. As a result, the brand image of the South Korean automaker will have a very positive impact in the country.
