2023 Hyundai Verna Production Commences – 65 Safety Features, ADAS & More
Hyundai Motor India has commenced the production of the upcoming 2023 Hyundai Verna sedan at its state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Chennai. Also, the South Korean automaker revealed the safety features of the upcoming sedan.
That being said, the upcoming 2023 Hyundai Verna sedan will come equipped with more than 65 safety features, of which 30 of those will be part of the standard equipment. This further iterates that the South Korean automaker is also pushing the boundaries in terms of automobile safety.
Diving into details, some of the note-worthy safety features on the upcoming 2023 Hyundai Verna sedan include 6 airbags, ABS, EBD, automatic headlamps, burglar alarm, impact-sensing auto door unlock, speed-sensing auto door lock, ISOFIX mounting points and Emergency Stop Signal (ESS).
In addition to these safety features, it is also worth mentioning that the top-spec variants of the upcoming 2023 Hyundai Verna sedan will come equipped with Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS).
As a result, the 2023 Hyundai Verna comes with active safety systems such as Forward Collision Warning, Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keep Assist, High-Beam Assist, Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance assist, Lead Vehicle Departure Alert, Driver Attention Warning and much more.
In terms of powertrain, the 2023 Hyundai Verna sedan will come with two petrol engine options. The '1.5 Turbo' variant features a turbocharged 1.5-litre engine that is expected to produce 160bhp of power and come mated to a 7-speed DCT gearbox.
On the other hand, the base powertrain will be the familiar 1.5-litre, naturally-aspirated petrol engine and interested customers can choose between a 6-speed manual transmission or a CVT gearbox with this powertrain.

Looking at the new teaser videos, the 2023 Hyundai Verna sedan seems to cater to the needs of both enthusiasts and chauffeur-driven customers with its sporty engine choice and spacious rear seat. As a result, we expect the upcoming 2023 Hyundai Verna to quickly gain traction in the Indian market.
That being said, it is yet to be seen how it compares against the likes of other sedans such as the Honda City, Skoda Kushaq, and Volkswagen Virtus. In addition to that, the South Korean automaker has scheduled the launch of the 2023 Verna sedan on March 21.
