15 Minutes To Charge An EV – Exponent Energy Unveils ‘Water-Based’ Rapid Charging Tech
The range of electric vehicles continues to be a major concern for many aspiring EV buyers despite an improved network of charging stations. This is mainly due to long charging hours.
Though fast charging technology has reduced charging times for electric vehicles, it is still nowhere close to the time required to fill up fuel from a petrol pump. This difference in downtime is a worrying concern for many consumers looking to switch to an EV.
Now, Exponent Energy, a Bengaluru-based startup has unveiled its patented 'Water-Based' off-board thermal management system. According to the company, this system makes way for a rapid charging tech that can charge anything from a two-wheeler to a bus in just 15 minutes.
In fact, Exponent Energy goes on to claim that it is the only EV company in the world that made a 0 to 100 per cent charge in 15-minute reality for EVs - Indeed a very tall claim for a startup company.
In addition to this claim, Exponent Energy also said that the electric vehicles powered by Exponent Energy will be 30 per cent more affordable than an electric vehicle that uses other conventional technology.
While all these claims seem from the future, Exponent Energy added that its 15-minute rapid charging technology can also manage to reduce electric vehicle charging costs by up to 33 per cent.
These claims are also backed up by figures and prove their reliability as Exponent Energy has completed more than 25,000 rapid charging sessions and covered more than 1 million kilometres in the last 3 months.
Also, according to Exponent Energy, there are more than 200+ Exponent-powered electric vehicles on roads in Bengaluru. The company is also looking forward to expanding its operations in five more cities - Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Chennai and Ahmedabad by the end of FY '24.
In addition to this new expansion target, Exponent Energy is also aiming to deploy 1,000 e^pumps and 25,000 electric vehicles by 2025. It is also worth mentioning that Exponent Energy with Altgreen launched the world's fastest-charging 3-wheeler.
