Hyundai Manages To Sell 1,000 Units Of Ioniq 5 Electric Crossover In India
Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) managed to sell 1,000 units of Ioniq 5 electric crossovers. The model was launched in India for Rs 44.95 lakh (ex-showroom). However, prices were later increased to Rs 45.95 lakh (ex-showroom).
That being said, the latest sales figures of the Hyundai Ioniq 5 electric crossover in India confirm that the model has been well-received by Indian buyers. In fact, Hyundai managed to sell 500 units of the Ioniq5 electric crossover by July 2023 itself.

Speaking about the Hyundai Ioniq 5, the electric crossover is available in just one top-spec variant. This model comes equipped with a large 72.6kWh battery pack. This battery pack sends most of its juice to a single electric motor which drives the rear wheels of the Ioniq 5 electric crossover.
This single electric motor which drives the rear wheels of the Hyundai Ioniq 5 produces 216bhp and 350Nm of peak. Also, this drivetrain layout makes the Hyundai Ioniq 5 a rear-wheel-drive vehicle - A layout preferred by automobile enthusiasts.

Thanks to the large battery pack and efficient single electric motor setup, the South Korean automaker claims that the Hyundai Ioniq 5 can travel up to 631 kilometres on a fully charged battery pack.
In terms of charging, the Hyundai Ioniq 5 electric crossover is capable of charging using a 350kW DC fast charger. As such, the Hyundai Ioniq 5 is able to charge from 10 per cent to 80 per cent in just 18 minutes.
