Volvo EX90 Interior Tech Details Revealed Ahead Of Global Debut
Swedish carmaker Volvo has revealed details about the upcoming EX90 EV's interior including the tech that powers it. The Volvo EX90 will be revealed to the world on the 9th of November.

Inspired by the firm's Concept Recharge from last year, the EX90 will be Volvo's flagship electric vehicle and will sit beside the well-loved XC90 in the lineup. Underpinned by Volvo's new SPA2 platform, the new EX90 will be Volvo's first entry into the world of flagship electric SUVs, a segment which includes rivals like the BMW IX and the Mercedes EQS SUV.

The latest teaser images released by Volvo are all about the tech that powers the interior of the upcoming electric EX90. The new teaser images of the Volvo EX90 show off the large vertical infotainment touchscreen display and the smaller horizontal display that sits behind the steering wheel.

The arrival of the larger central touchscreen infotainment screen sees Volvo ditch the buttons for the climate control system and other functions. The massive display will also allow access to features like Google Maps, navigation, media and phone controls thanks to an interface powered by Google's Android operating system.

Even the steering wheel seems to be devoid of any physical buttons and instead appears to feature capacitive units instead. Behind the steering wheel sits a smaller horizontal display that provides the driver with directions, current speed and range information among others allowing the person behind the wheel to concentrate on the road ahead. The display also lets you know which mode you're currently driving the upcoming Volvo EX90 in allowing the driver to know what to expect from the car.

Speaking about the upcoming EX90s displays, Thomas Stovicek, head of UX at Volvo Cars said, "It's all about providing you with the right information at the right time. We want your driving experience to be focused, simple and safe. Since the car also understands its surroundings and you better than ever before, we can create an even safer situation by reducing mode confusion, distraction and information overload."

Thoughts About The Upcoming Volvo EX90
The Volvo EX90 will be the Swedish carmaker's electric flagship when it arrives on the 9th of November. If the rest of the EX90's components are anything as good as what the infotainment and driver's display setup seems to be then Volvo's may be the electric full-sized SUV to buy for those with big-sized pockets.
