Upcoming Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 Teased - Launch Soon
The Royal Enfield has officially teased the upcoming Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 motorcycle. The short teaser video shows the motorcycle crossing a small river somewhere in the Ladakh region.

Though the teaser video shows the upcoming Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 motorcycle, we could only see the front of the Himalayan 450 and the water splash completely covers the important traits of the motorcycle. However, the headlight, turn indicators, and windscreen is clearly visible.

Moreover, while the headlight is a circular unit like the outgoing Royal Enfield Himalayan 411, the headlight set up on the upcoming Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 does not use a halogen bulb for lighting but uses modern LEDs instead.

Coming to the most important bit, the upcoming Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 will use a 450cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine. This powertrain is expected to push 40bhp of peak power and 40-45Nm of peak torque. Also, the motorcycle is likely to come equipped with a 6-speed transmission with slip and assist clutch.

Also, we expect the following changes such as wider front and rear tyres, more sophisticated adjustable USD forks at the front, ride modes, a more informative instrument cluster, and a slightly larger fuel tank as well.
While The Royal Enfield Himalayan is already a decent adventure touring motorcycle that is fairly simple and rugged, the motorcycle lacked the outright punch. This meant, the Royal Enfield Himalayan 411 falls back when roads really open up.

With the launch of the new Royal Enfield Himalayan 450, the automaker can easily compete with more powerful motorcycles in the segment such as the KTM 390 Adventure, and BMW G310 GS.
Given its premium positioning, we do expect the upcoming Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 to be sold alongside the outgoing iteration of the Royal Enfield Himalayan 411 motorcycle as both motorcycles are targeted at slightly different customers.

We do expect Royal Enfield to soon launch the Himalayan 450 motorcycle in India as the company has already released its first official teaser and Royal Enfield could really benefit from the sales push during the upcoming festive season in India.
Moreover, the launch of the new motorcycle will also attract a lot of buyers to the dealerships and other Royal Enfield models could also benefit from such an exercise as well.

In terms of size, numerous spy shots of the upcoming Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 have revealed that the motorcycle will be slightly bigger than the outgoing Royal Enfield Himalayan 411 motorcycle, and thanks to the bigger engine and liquid-cooling, the Himalayan 450 could be heavier as well.

At present, the KTM 390 Adventure is priced at Rs 3.37 lakh (ex-showroom, India), whereas the BMW G310 GS is priced from Rs 3.10 lakh (ex-showroom, India). Looking at these prices, we expect, Royal Enfield to price the upcoming Himalayan 450 between these competitors at around Rs 3.25 lakh.
