Upcoming CNG Cars In India - Altroz, Baleno, Carens, Punch & More
Thanks to rising fuel prices and strong demand for CNG vehicles, a few car manufacturers are gearing up to launch the CNG iteration of some of their products. So, here is a list of upcoming CNG cars in India.

Tata Altroz CNG
Tata is keen on launching the CNG version of the Altroz premium hatchback in the country to further increase the overall sales figures. That being said, the Tata Altroz CNG has been spotted a few times testing in India.

We expect the upcoming CNG version of the Tata Altroz premium hatchback to use the same 1.2-litre, naturally-aspirated engine that does duty in the Tata Tiago CNG and the Tata Tigor CNG.
This engine produces 84.82bhp of peak power and 113Nm of peak torque in standard form. However, sipping the CNG fuel, this engine produces slightly lower power and torque outputs at 73bhp and 95Nm of torque. Moreover, this engine comes with a 5-speed manual gearbox.

It is also worth mentioning that the Tata Altroz is currently the safest hatchback you can buy in India with a 5-Star safety rating from Global-NCAP. In addition to this, it comes with features such as a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, cruise control, wireless charging, a reverse parking camera, and many more.

Maruti Suzuki Baleno CNG
Maruti Suzuki recently updated the Maruti Suzuki Baleno hatchback in India and the Indo-Japanese automaker is now looking forward to launching the CNG version of the Baleno hatchback in the country.

The 2022 Maruti Suzuki Baleno now comes with just one engine option and this engine is a 1.2-litre naturally-aspirated petrol engine with a mild-hybrid system with DualJet technology.
This engine in standard form produces 89bhp of peak power and 113Nm of peak torque. However, expect this engine to produce around 76bhp of peak power and 98Nm of peak torque while running on CNG fuel. Also, the 5-speed manual gearbox will be the sole gearbox option on the CNG variant.

Maruti Suzuki Brezza CNG
Maruti Suzuki has launched the 2022 iteration of the Brezza SUV in India and the automaker is now working on the CNG version of the Brezza SUV to further improve its overall sales figure and market share.

The updated version of the Maruti Suzuki Brezza is powered by a 1.5-litre, naturally-aspirated petrol engine. This engine produces 103bhp of peak power and 136.8Nm of torque. However, we expect the CNG variant to produce slightly lesser power and torque outputs as the CNG variant of the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga produces 90.7bhp of peak power and 122Nm of peak torque.
Like all CNG vehicles, we expect the CNG version of the Maruti Suzuki Brezza to be equipped with a 5-speed manual transmission as the sole gearbox option.

Tata Punch CNG
Tata Punch became an instant hit in the Indian automobile market and a consistent seller for Tata Motors in India. Moreover, despite its compact dimensions, it is one of the safest cars in India with a 5-Star safety rating from Global-NCAP.

While the standard Tata Punch is powered by an uprated 1.2L Revotron petrol engine with 84.48bhp of peak power and 113Nm of peak torque. We expect the CNG iteration to be powered by the same engine as Tata Tiago CNG and Tata Tigor CNG.
As a result, we expect the CNG version of the Tata Punch to produce 73bhp of peak power and 95Nm of torque in CNG mode. Also, the 5-speed manual transmission will be the sole gearbox option available with the CNG version of the SUV.

Hyundai Alcazar CNG
The Hyundai Alcazar is the 7-seater version of the Hyundai Creta SUV. Though sales figures are decent, Hyundai in a bid to improve its sales is planning to launch the CNG version of the SUV in the country.

While the Hyundai Alcazar comes with two engine options. It is the 2.0-litre naturally-aspirated petrol engine that will be converted to run on CNG as well. In standard form, this engine produces 156.90bhp of peak power and 191Nm of peak torque.
With the CNG fuel, expect the power and torque figures to come down by a small margin. Apart from that, the CNG version of the Hyundai Alcazar will be available with a manual gearbox only.

Kia Carens CNG
The Kia Carens is currently some of the best-selling MUVs in the country. Now, Kia India is planning to launch the CNG version of the Carens MUV to further improve sales of the MUV.

While the standard variant of the Kia Carens MPV comes with a choice of three engine options. A few spy shots have revealed that the CNG version of the Kia Carens MPV will use the 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol engine with138bhp of power and 242Nm of torque.
However, this engine will produce slightly less power with CNG fuel. Moreover, the CNG version of the Carens is likely to sport a 6-speed manual gearbox as standard.
