Pre-bookings for the Toyota Hilux are already open. The much-awaited pickup truck will be launched on 20 January 2022 and bookings for the same will open on 20th as well. Deliveries will begin in March 2022 and test drives will also be opened to the public in March. The Toyota Hilux can be booked by paying a token amount of Rs 1 lakh.

Toyota Hilux Price In India

The Toyota Hilux is based on the same platform as the Toyota Fortuner and Toyota Innova. The Toyota Fortuner is currently priced between Rs 31.39 lakh and Rs 39.28 lakh. The Toyota Innova on the other hand is priced between Rs 16.89 lakh and Rs 25.32 lakh. The Toyota Hilux was expected to be positioned in between.

Now, sources have revealed that it will be priced to rival other SUVs in the C-SUV segment. Going by this tip, it is quite obvious that the Toyota Hilux will be priced between Rs 18 lakh and Rs 26 lakh.

Toyota Hilux Engine & Gearbox

The Toyota Hilux will be powered by a 2.8-litre turbo-diesel engine that is also shared with the Toyota Innova and Toyota Fortuner. It can be paired with either a manual gearbox or an automatic gearbox. Sources reveal that it will have best-in-class power and torque figures.

Toyota Hilux Chassis & Platform

The Toyota Hilux will be built on Toyota's IMV (innovative Multi-Purpose Vehicle) platform. This very platform also underpins the Toyota Fortuner and the Toyota Innova Crysta. Hence, a majority of the parts including the engine and gearbox will be shared between these three vehicles. The Toyota Hilux will be built at the Toyota Kirloskar Motor plant near Bangalore.
