Toyota Hikes Fortuner & Innova Prices By Up To Rs 1.2 Lakh
Toyota has hiked the prices of the Toyota Fortuner range and Toyota Innova Crysta across all variants. According to Toyota, prices for these models have increased up to Rs 1.2 lakh from ex-showroom prices.
Starting with the Toyota Fortuner, The Toyota Fortuner range starts with the base model equipped with the 2.7-litre petrol engine and manual transmission. This model now costs Rs 31.70 lakh (ex-showroom, India), which is a price hike of Rs 40,000.
This Rs 40,000 price hike has been received by the next 3 variants of the Toyota Fortuner which includes the petrol variants equipped with an automatic gearbox, 4X2 diesel variant with manual gearbox, and 4X2 diesel variant with an automatic gearbox.

The next two models equipped with the 4X4 drivetrain received a price hike of Rs 75,000. As a result, the 4X4 Toyota Fortuner with manual transmission is now priced at Rs 37.74 lakh (ex-showroom, India), whereas the 4X4 Toyota Fortuner with automatic transmission is priced at Rs 40.03 lakh (ex-showroom, India).
However, the biggest price hike was received by Legender variants. These variants received a price hike of Rs 1.2 lakh. Prices for the Legender variant of the Fortuner now starts from Rs 40.91 lakh (ex-showroom, India) for the 4X2 AT, whereas the 4X4 AT variant of the Legender variant now costs Rs 44.63 lakh.
On the other hand, the prices for the Innova Crysta were hiked up to Rs 56,000. Starting with the petrol-powered Innova Crysta, all manual transmission-equipped models except the VX MT 7-seater variant received a price hike of Rs 56,000, whereas other petrol-powered models received a hike of Rs 36,000.
As a result, the base variant of the petrol-powered Innova Crysta is priced at Rs 17.45 lakh (ex-showroom, India), whereas the top-end ZX AT 7-seater variant of the Innova Crysta comes with a new price tag of Rs 23.83 lakh (ex-showroom, India).
On the other hand, though the diesel versions of the Toyota Innova Crysta is a more popular choice among consumers, Toyota has kept the price hike similar with a maximum price hike of Rs 56,000.
Taking the diesel variants of the Innova Crysta, the least price hike of Rs 36,000 was received by the automatic variants and top-end manual variants.

On the other hand, the highest price hike was received by all other variants except the base 7-seater and 8-seater variants. The prices for the base variants of the Innova Crysta with diesel powertrain were hiked by Rs 45,000.
This takes the starting price of Innova Crysta diesel to Rs 18.63 lakh (ex-showroom, India) for the G MT 7-seater variant and Rs 25.68 lakh (ex-showroom, India) for top-of-the-line ZX AT 7-seater variant.
Thoughts About Toyota's Price Hike
Both the Toyota Innova Crysta and Toyota Fortuner have been the backbone of Toyota Kirloskar Motors for quite some time now in India. Despite the price hike, we do not expect to see Toyota customers shying away from buying these vehicles.
