Toyota Glanza CNG Launched In India At Rs 8.43 Lakh – Boasts Superior Mileage
Maruti Suzuki recently launched the CNG version of the Baleno hatchback in India. As such, the launch of the CNG version of the Glanza was inevitable. That being said, Toyota has now launched the much-awaited CNG version of the Glanza hatchback in India at Rs 8.43 lakh (ex-showroom, India).
Much like the Maruti Suzuki Baleno S-CNG hatchback, the newly launched Toyota Glanza E-CNG hatchback is also available in just two trim levels - G, and S. Moreover, the 'S' variant of the CNG version of the Toyota Glanza hatchback is priced at Rs 9.46 lakh (ex-showroom, India).
Commenting on the launch of the Toyota Glanza E-CNG, Mr Atul Sood, Associate Vice President, Sales, and Strategic Marketing, Toyota Kirloskar Motor, said, "Being a customer-centric company, Toyota Kirloskar Motor believes in placing customer's interest at the forefront. Our goal at Toyota has always been to serve the markets needs with a clear focus on customers' aspirations, and by providing the most viable products and services to our customers. With the same vision in mind, we are delighted to announce our foray in the CNG segment, driving in CNG variants for two of our much sought-after offerings, the Toyota Glanza & the Urban Cruiser Hyryder."
Moreover, Toyota also introduced the CNG variant of the Urban Cruiser Hyryder. Though the prices of this model is yet to be announced by the Japanese automaker, bookings for the model have been opened along with the bookings for the Toyota Glanza E-CNG.
Coming back to the Toyota Glanza, the CNG variant of the Japanese automaker's premium hatchback is essentially a rebadged version of the Maruti Suzuki Baleno S-CNG. As a result, the model is powered by the same 1.2-litre, 4-cylinder, naturally-aspirated CNG-compatible engine that powers the Baleno S-CNG hatchback.
This engine in standard form produces 89bhp of peak power and 113Nm of peak torque. However, with the CNG fuel, power and torque figures dip down to 76bhp and 98.5Nm, respectively. On top of that, the Toyota Glanza E-CNG comes equipped with a 5-speed manual transmission as standard.
Thanks to the CNG-compatible power unit, the claimed fuel efficiency figure on the newly launched Toyota Glanza E-CNG hatchback is rated at 30.61km/kg. This makes the Toyota Glanza E-CNG one of the most fuel-efficient cars in the country.
In comparison, the Delta variant of the Maruti Suzuki Baleno S-CNG hatchback is priced at Rs 8.28 lakh (ex-showroom, India), whereas the 'Zeta' variant of the Indo-Japanese hatchback is priced at Rs 9.21 lakh (ex-showroom, India).
Thoughts About The CNG Variant Of The Toyota Glanza
With the launch of the CNG variant of the Toyota Glanza hatchback, the Japanese automaker is looking forward to further boosting its sales figure in India. In addition to that, this latest launch marks the company's foray into the CNG segment in India.
