Top-selling SUVs in India for January 2022. Tata Motors takes the top spot in the sales chart in the last month. Apart from that, it is clear that a majority of customers have become aware of the importance of safety in cars.

The Tata Nexon is the best-selling SUV in January 2022 by registering 13,816 unit sales. This means the compact SUV witnessed a 68 per cent growth compared to 8,225 units sold in January 2021.

The Tata Nexon is powered by two different engine options, the 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol unit produces 118bhp and 170Nm of torque, whereas the diesel engine is a 1.5-litre unit with 108bhp and 260Nm of torque. Tata Nexon can also be specified with a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 6-speed AMT gearbox.
Prices for the Tata Nexon start from Rs 7.39 lakh (ex-showroom, India) for the base 1.2-litre petrol variant.

Kia Seltos
The Kia Seltos is the second best-selling SUV in India and the best-selling vehicle in its segment by registering 11,483 unit sales in January 2022. In comparison, the Kia Seltos sold 9,869 unit sales in the same period last year.
Like the Hyundai Creta, the Kia Seltos also comes with three engine options. While the 1.5-litre diesel unit produces 113.45bhp and 250Nm of torque, the 1.5-litre petrol engine produces 113.18bhp and 144Nm of torque. However, the most potent of the lot is the 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol engine and this unit produces 138.12bhp and 242Nm of torque. All engines can be specified with either an automatic or manual transmission.

Like all Kia vehicles, Kia Seltos also comes heavily loaded with tech and it is one of the best-equipped SUVs in its segment. Kia Seltos comes with features such as 6 airbags, ESC, BOSE 8-speaker system, a 360-degree camera, blind-spot monitor, front parking sensors and many more. Hyundai Venue
The Hyundai Venue has been a consistent performer for the Korean automotive manufacturer since its launch in India and the compact SUV from the South Korean manufacturer sold 11,377 units in January 2022. However, this performance saw a marginal drop in sales performance as compact SUV sold 11,779 units during the same month last year.
Like most cars from Hyundai, the Venue offers a long list of features such as a wireless phone charger, cooled glovebox, an air purifier, an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment unit, steering wheel-mounted controls, and many more.

The Hyundai Venue also offers top-of-the-line safety features such as six airbags, impact sensing auto door unlock, speed sensing auto door lock, rear parking sensors, reversing camera and many more.
Like the Hyundai Creta, the Hyundai Venue is powered by three engine options. The 1.2-litre petrol engine produces 81.86bhp and 116Nm of torque, whereas the 1.5-litre diesel unit produces 98.63bhp and 245Nm of torque. Finally, the potent 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine produces 118.35bhp and a healthy 175Nm of torque. Prices for the Hyundai Venue starts from Rs 6.99 lakh (ex-showroom, India).

Tata Punch
The new Tata Punch quickly became a favourite among new car buyers and the sub-4m SUV registered a strong 10,027 unit sales in January 2022.

Apart from that, it is also the safest vehicle on this list with a 5-star safety rating for adult protection and also comes well equipped with features such as projector headlamps, auto headlights, climate control, cooled glove box, rain-sensing wipers, a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, digital driver display, and many more.
The Tata Punch is powered by a 1.2-litre naturally-aspirated petrol engine with 84.48bhp and 113Nm of torque. This engine can be specified with either a 5-speed manual gearbox or a 5-speed Automated Manual Transmission (AMT). Tata Punch range starts from Rs 5.64 lakh (ex-showroom, India).

Hyundai Creta
Though Hyundai Creta is a very popular SUV in the segment, Hyundai has sold just 9,869 units of Creta SUV last month, which is around 20 per cent less than what the Korean brand had managed last year by selling 12,284 units in January 2021.
Like all Hyundai vehicles, the Hyundai Creta also comes packed with all the latest technology and features. The Hyundai Creta also features a large panoramic sunroof.

Hyundai Creta can be specified with three engine options. The 1.5-litre diesel unit produces 113.45bhp and 250Nm of torque, whereas the 1.5-litre naturally-aspirated petrol unit pushes out 113.18 bhp and 144Nm of torque. However, the most potent engine in this lot is the 138bhp 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol engine and this engine pushes out a diesel engine like 242Nm of torque.
All engines can be specified with either a manual or an automatic gearbox, however, the 1.4-litre engine can only be specified with a 7-speed DCT gearbox. Prices for the Hyundai Creta starts from Rs 10.23 lakh (ex-showroom, India).
