The bookings for the upcoming Mercedes-Benz C-Class sedan is already open and first time Mercedes-Benz customers can directly book the upcoming 2022 Mercedes-Benz C-Class sedan by paying an amount of Rs 50,000.

The new Mercedes-Benz C-Class is in its fifth generation and the model was introduced back in 2021 in the international markets. According to Mercedes-Benz, the company is gearing up to launch the latest iteration of its C-Class sedan on May 10.

Production

The manufacturing of the latest iteration of the new Mercedes-Benz C-Class takes place at the German automaker's state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Chakan, Pune. Apart from that, the German automaker has already commenced the production of the 2022 Mercedes-Benz C-Class from its Chakan manufacturing plant in Pune.

Powertrain

In India, the upcoming new 2022 Mercedes-Benz C-Class will come with three engine options and all these engines come equipped with a 48V belt-integrated starter generator that is capable of producing 19.7bhp and 200Nm of torque.

The entry-level engine option in the Mercedes-Benz C-Class is a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine with 201.5bhp of peak power and 300Nm of peak torque.

On the other hand, the entry-level diesel powertrain on the new C-Class sedan is a larger 2.0-litre turbocharged diesel engine with 198bhp of peak power and 400Nm of peak torque.

The most powerful variant of the upcoming new Mercedes-Benz C-Class uses a 2.0-litre turbocharged diesel engine with more than 262bhp of peak power and 550Nm of peak torque and all three engines come mated to a 9-speed automatic gearbox as standard.

Performance & Fuel Efficiency

Mercedes-Benz claims a fuel efficiency figure of 16.9km/l for the C200 variant, and 23km/l for the C200d variant, and in terms of performance, Mercedes-Benz claims a 0-100km/h timing of just 7.3 seconds for the C200 and C200d variants, whereas the same feat takes just 5.7 seconds in the C300d variant of the C-Class sedan.

Colours & Variants

The upcoming Mercedes-Benz C-Class is offered in 6 exterior colour options - Salatine Grey, Mojave Silver, High-tech Silver, Manufaktur Opalite White, Cavansite Blue and Obsidian Black.

However, the more powerful Mercedes-Benz C-Class C300d in its AMG line comes in just 3 colour options - Manufaktur Opalite White, Cavansite Blue and Obsidian Black.

Apart from that, the C200 and C200d variants are available in the Avantgarde line, whereas the more powerful C300d variant comes exclusively in the sportier AMG line.
