Despite its small footprint and affordable price tag, the Tata Punch SUV is one of the safest cars you can buy in India with a 5-Star safety rating from Global-NCAP. The SUV is also quite consistent in its sales figures after managing to sell 10,982 units in October 2022 with a YoY sales increase of 29.91 per cent.

Maruti Suzuki Brezza (9,941 Units)

The newly launched Maruti Suzuki Brezza slipped to the 4th spot in October 2022, despite the ongoing festive season. However, this could be due to the high waiting period and ongoing chip shortage. In October 2022, Maruti Suzuki managed to sell 9,941 units of Brezza SUV by registering a 23.77 per cent YoY sales increase.

Kia Seltos (9,777 Units)

The Kia Seltos continues to rack up good sales figures for the South Korean automaker. On top of that, the 5-seater SUV is currently the best-selling Kia model in the country. In October 2022, Kia sold 9,777 units of Seltos SUVs in India. However, YoY sales figures dipped by almost 7 per cent.

Hyundai's sub-4m SUV, Venue continues to bring good sales figures for the South Korean automaker. In October 2022, Hyundai sold 9,585 units of Venue SUVs in India, though a solid sales number, YoY sales figures dipped by more than 9 per cent.

Mahindra Bolero (8,772 Units)

Mahindra Bolero is a very utilitarian and rugged vehicle. Thanks to its simplicity, the SUV is a favourite among rural buyers. Moreover, the company managed to sell 8,772 units of Bolero SUVs in India, resulting in a YoY sales increase of 8.18 per cent.

Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara (8,052 Units)

Despite being a new SUV, the Maruti Suzuki managed to sell 8,052 units of the Grand Vitara SUV in India. Part of this success could be credited to the hybrid-only powertrain options available with the SUV.

Kia Sonet (7,614 Units)

Kia Sonet continues to be a valuable model for Kia Motors in India. In October 2022, the South Korean automaker managed to sell 7,624 units of Sonet sub-4m SUV in India. Moreover, YoY sales figures also improved by almost 40 per cent.

Mahindra Scorpio (7,438 Units)

Mahindra Scorpio continues to be a popular choice in India. However, the sales figures could improve to a large extent if the automaker could improve the production figures. In terms of sales figures, Mahindra sold 7,438 units of Scorpio SUVs in India during the month of October 2022, resulting in a YoY sales increase of more than 125 per cent.
