Top 10 Best Selling Cars Of February 2022: Mahindra Bolero Makes It To The List
The list of Top 10 best-selling cars for the month of February 2022 is here and without breaking a sweat, Maruti Suzuki yet again dominates the list with seven models.
However, one model each from Tata Motors, Mahindra and Hyundai have also been made into this list. Moreover, to our surprise, it is the Mahindra Bolero that represents Mahindra in this list.
Speaking about the sales performance, few models have seen growth, whereas some models have seen a marginal drop in their sales performance. However, this could be attributed to new updated models in their respective segments.
Diving into the numbers, the Maruti Suzuki Swift takes the top step in terms of sales volume by selling 19,202 units in the month of February. Though this number is highest in the month of February 2022, sales of the Swift has declined by approximately 5 per cent compared to YoY performance.
The second step on the podium is also taken by a vehicle from the Maruti Suzuki product portfolio. The second highest-selling model in February 2022 is the Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire and the company has sold 17,438 units of this sub-4m sedan. Moreover, the Maruti Suzuki Dzire also witnessed a very impressive 47 per cent YoY growth.
In fact, Maruti Suzuki has taken the top 4 spots with the Maruti Suzuki WagonR on the last step of the podium and Maruti Suzuki Baleno on the 4th place.
To secure this spot, Maruti Suzuki has sold 14,669 units of WagonR in February 2022, whereas Maruti Suzuki Baleno takes the 4th spot by selling 12,570 units. However, both hatchbacks witnessed a YoY sales dip of 22 per cent and 37 per cent, respectively.
Thanks to a strong performance from Tata Motors, the Indian automobile giant secured the 5th spot by selling 12,259 units of Tata Nexon SUV. Moreover, the sub-4m SUV saw a 55 per cent YoY growth. This completes the top 5 selling cars in February 2022.
In the sixth spot is the 7-seater Maruti Suzuki Ertiga. The MPV has been a consistent performer for the Indo-Japanese brand and has sold 11,649 units in February 2022, resulting in a YoY sales growth of 19 per cent.
The next spot is also occupied by a Maruti Suzuki, this time it is the brand's entry-level model, Alto. This hatchback managed to sell 11,551 units despite strong competition. However, the sales of this entry-level hatchback have been hit by 32 per cent as the company managed to sell 16,919 units during the same period, last year.
The eighth and ninth spot is taken by Mahindra and Hyundai. Also, this might be a surprise to many as the Mahindra vehicle to take the eighth spot is the Bolero by selling 11,045 units, and this SUV has registered a YoY growth of 128 per cent.
The ninth spot is taken by Hyundai Venue as it managed to sell 10,212 units. However, the model has witnessed a 9 per cent did in YoY sales.
The last spot on the top 10 list is again secured by a Maruti Suzuki. The last spot is taken by the Maruti Suzuki Celerio after selling 9,896 units. Moreover, thanks to the launch of the new Celerio in the market, YoY sales have jumped by 59 per cent.
Thoughts About Top 10 Best-Selling Cars In February 2022
Maruti Suzuki yet again dominates the Indian automobile segment. Be it hatchbacks or sedans or 7-seater vehicles, the Indo-Japanese brand has clear dominance over its rivals in lower segments.
Overall, it is clear that the Maruti Suzuki vehicles have dominated the list and it is proof of people's trust in the brand. However, it is to be noted that Hyundai has lost some traction.
It is also worth mentioning that, Tata Motors has started to gain a lot of trust in people, thanks to their relentless campaign on automotive safety. In addition to that, the sales performance of Bolero signifies how deep-rooted the model is in India.
