Three Wheeler Sales February 2022: EVs Show Growth
Bajaj Auto has always been a segment leader in the three-wheeler segment in India. Moreover, three-wheelers have always been a very convenient and affordable mode of transportation for short-distance commutes.

In the latest data released, it is worth mentioning that the electric three-wheeler sales have increased by almost 64 per cent.
Bajaj (13,301 units)
Diving into the numbers, Bajaj Auto is still the dominant force in the three-wheeler segment in India by selling 13,301 units in February 2022. In comparison, Bajaj Auto witnessed a growth of 8 per cent in YoY sales as the company managed to sell 12,310 units in February 2021. However, MoM sales were hit by more than 10 per cent as Bajaj managed to sell 14,794 units in January 2022.

Piaggio (3,967 units)
Taking the second spot is the Piaggio. Piaggio sold 3,967 units in February 2022, however, YoY sales have gone down by almost 23 per cent as the company sold 5,182 units in February 2021. However, MoM sales have improved by 2.45 per cent as the company managed to sell just 3,872 units in January 2022.
YC Electric (1,836 units)
In February 2022, YC Electric sold 1,836 units, resulting in an almost 60 per cent increase in YoY sales (1,148 units in February 2021). Also, the EV manufacturer witnessed 10 per cent MoM sales growth as the EV manufacturer sold 1,676 units in January 2022.

Mahindra (1,297 units)
Taking the 4th spot is the Mahindra as the sales numbers of Mahindra three-wheelers were down by more than 6 per cent in terms of YoY sales performance. Apart from that, the company managed to sell just 1,297 units in February 2022. On the other hand, MoM sales have dipped by 93 units, resulting in an almost 7 per cent drop in sales.
Atul (1,225 units)
Atul on the other hand took the 5th spot but has witnessed a sales decline of almost 9 per cent in terms of YoY sales performance as the company sold just 1,225 units in February 2022. However, MoM sales have improved as the company managed to sell four more units in the last month.

Saera Electric (891 units)
On the 6th spot is Saera Electric, this company sold 891 units in February 2022, resulting in almost 113 per cent YoY sales increase as the company sold just 418 units in February 2021. However, MoM sales declined by almost 2 per cent as the company managed to sell 16 more units in January 2022.
Mahindra Reva (770 units)
Mahindra Reva took the 7th spot by selling 770 units in February 2022, which resulted in a YoY sales increase of almost 68 per cent as the company sold 460 units in February 2021. However, MoM sales performance is down by almost 15 per cent as January 2022 sales stood at 901 units.

Champion Poly Plast (729 units)
Champion Poly Plast sold 729 units in February 2022 to take the 8th spot, but MoM sales are down by more than 2 per cent as the company sold 18 units less. However, the company has witnessed more than 74 per cent YoY sales growth with February 2021 sales standing at just 418 units.
Best Way Agencies (724 units)
Best Way Agencies took the 9th spot and marked one of the highest YoY sales growth at 162 per cent as the company managed to sell 724 units in February 2022. In comparison, the company managed to sell just 276 units in February 2021. Moreover, MoM sales have also increased by almost 10 per cent as the company managed just 663 units in January 2022.

TVS (723 units)
TVS Motors took the 10th spot in three-wheeler sales as the company managed to sell just 723 units in February 2022, resulting in MoM and YoY sales decline of more than 19 per cent and 16 per cent, respectively.
Apart from that, sales in February 2021 stood at just 866 units and sales in January 2022 was registered as 894 units.
Others (13,498 units)
Other companies such as Dilli Electric, Unique International, Mini Metro EV, Terra Motors, JS Auto and a few more companies together sell 13,498 units of three-wheelers in February 2022.

Analysing the sales trend, electric three-wheeler sales have increased rapidly in the country. Thanks to rising fuel prices, electric three-wheelers are far more economical to run and maintain.
