This Skoda Dealer Delivered 125 Units Of Slavia Sedan In One Day
A Skoda dealership in Tamilnadu has delivered 125 units of the recently launched Slavia sedan on the same day. Though not a record-breaking number, the delivery of 125 units of the Slavia sedan is a commendable achievement by the dealership.
Speaking about the dealership, the 125 units of Slavia sedan were delivered by SGA Cars in Coimbatore, Tamilnadu. Moreover, the feat could be seen as a testament to the traction gained by the recently launched Slavia sedan in India.
Speaking about the new Skoda Slavia, the recently launched Czech sedan replaced the Skoda Rapid sedan in India and competes against other sedans in its segment such as the Volkswagen Virtus, Honda City, Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, and Hyundai Verna.
The Skoda Slavia is also based on the same MQB-A0 IN platform as the Skoda Kushaq SUV, and as a result, bears many resemblance to the SUV.
Moreover, the interior looks very premium with its layered dashboard design and the presence of a large touchscreen infotainment unit. However, due to the ongoing semiconductor shortage, Skoda has now decided to replace the larger infotainment unit with a smaller 8-inch unit.
The Skoda Slavia is available with two engine options. The base 1.0-litre TSI petrol engine produces 113bhp of peak power and 178Nm of peak torque. This engine can also be specified either with a 6-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission.
The next engine option is a much more powerful 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder, TSI petrol engine with 150bhp of peak power and 250Nm of peak torque. Though the manual transmission is also a 6-speed gearbox like the base engine, the automatic transmission mated to this engine is a more sophisticated 7-speed DSG unit.
The 1.5-litre TSI engine is also a bit more sophisticated than the 1.0-litre TSI unit as it comes with 'Active Cylinder Technology' that deactivates two of its four cylinders for better fuel efficiency.
In terms of dimension, the Skoda Slavia sedan is 4,541mm long, 1,752mm wide, 1,487mm tall, and sports a wheelbase of 2,651mm. Moreover, thanks to its large dimension, the boot space of the Skoda Slavia is one of the largest in its segment at 521 litres.
In terms of features, the new Skoda Slavia mimics the feature list of other Skoda Group vehicles such as the Volkswagen Taigun and Skoda Kushaq.
The feature list in the new Slavia sedan consists of a touchscreen infotainment unit, connected car tech, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support, automatic climate control system, a wireless charger, ventilated front seats, leather upholstery, rear AC vents, cooled glove box, multiple USB ports, an electric sunroof, and many more.
The Skoda Slavia is priced at Rs 10.99 lakh (ex-showroom, India) for the base variant with the 1.0-litre TSI petrol engine and 6-speed manual transmission.
Thoughts About The Skoda Slavia
The Skoda Slavia replaces the ageing Skoda Rapid sedan in India. That being said, the launch of the Slavia sedan is helping the Czech automaker boost its sales in India by a decent margin.
