In a bid to improve its overall sales figures, Tata Motors has launched the CNG version of the Tiago NRG hatchback in India.

As such, here are the top 5 things about the Tata Tiago NRG iCNG hatchback that you should know before buying the CNG-powered hatchback.

Price & Variants

While the CNG version of the Tata Tiago hatchback is available in four trim levels and prices for the CNG version of the Tiago range starts from Rs 6.29 lakh (ex-showroom, India), the newly launched Tata Tiago NRG iCNG is available in just two trim levels.

While the Tata Tiago NRG iCNG 'XT' is priced at Rs 7.40 lakh (ex-showroom, India), the higher-spec 'XZ' trim of the Tata Tiago NRG iCNG is priced at Rs 7.80 lakh (ex-showroom, India).

Engine, Gearbox & Fuel Efficiency

In terms of engine, the CNG variant of the Tata Tiago NRG sports the same tried-and-tested, 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder, naturally-aspirated engine as the Tata Tiago CNG. With the CNG fuel, this engine produces slightly lower power and torque outputs at 72bhp of power and 95Nm of torque. However, with petrol, this engine produces 84.82bhp of peak power and 113Nm of peak torque.

Much like the Tata Tiago iCNG, the new Tata Tiago NRG iCNG comes exclusively with a 5-speed manual transmission as standard. Thanks to this powertrain setup, the Tata Tiago NRG iCNG returns a mileage of 26.4km/kg of CNG.

Colours

The newly launched Tata Tiago NRG iCNG hatchback is available in four different colour options, this includes shades such as Cloudy Grey, Polar White, Fire Red and Foresta Green.

Design

In terms of design, the newly launched CNG variant of the Tata Tiago NRG is visually identical to its petrol-powered counterpart with the inclusion of design elements such as plastic cladding on lower sections of the exterior, faux skid plates, dual tne alloy wheels and more.

However, much like the Tata Tiago CNG, the CNG variants of the Tata Tiago NRG are sports a few 'i-CNG' badges to distinguish themselves from the standard petrol-powered variants. On the inside, the CNG version of the Tata Tiago NRG sports an additional switch on the dashboard to switch to CNG fuel and comes with a CNG tank in the boot.

Features & Safety

In terms of features, the Tata Tiago NRG iCNG comes equipped with an identical set of features as the standard variant of the Tata Tiago NRG with features such as projector headlamps, LED DRLs, rear wash wiper with defogger, a 7-inch Harman infotainment system with 8-speakers, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Bluetooth, steering-mounted controls, cooled glovebox, a digital instrument cluster and much more

Apart from that, the Tata Tiago NRG iCNG hatchback comes with safety systems such as ABS with EBD, dual airbags, reverse parking sensors, rear parking camera, cornering stability control, speed-sensitive auto door lock and many more.
