Tata Tiago NRG CNG Coming Soon – Likely To Be Priced Around Rs 7.50 Lakh

Earlier, Tata Motors launched the CNG version of the Tiago hatchback in India and the CNG hatchback more than met the automaker's high expectations with consistent sales figures in tier 1 and tier 2 cities.

Thanks to the low running cost of the vehicle and an attractive price tag, many car buyers gravitated towards the CNG version of the Tiago hatchback. As such, this has prompted Tata Motors to launch the CNG version of the more attractive Tiago NRG hatchback.

Moreover, with the ever-tightening emission regulations in metro cities, opting for the CNG variants of cars makes even more sense as CNG cars produce far fewer pollutants and are highly unlikely to be banned anytime soon.

In terms of design, the upcoming CNG variant of the Tata Tiago NRG is likely to look
identical to its petrol-powered counterpart. However, much like the Tata Tiago CNG, the CNG variants of the Tata Tiago NRG are likely to sport a few 'i CNG' badges to distinguish themselves from the standard petrol-powered variants.

On the inside, the CNG version of the Tata Tiago NRG will sport an additional switch on the dashboard to switch to CNG fuel.

In terms of features, the CNG variant of the Tata Tiago NRG comes equipped with an identical set of features as the standard variant of the Tata Tiago NRG with features such as projector headlamps, LED DRLs, rear wash wiper with defogger, a 7-inch Harman infotainment system with 8-speakers, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, and many more.

Apart from that, the CNG variant of the Tata Tiago NRG is likely to come with identical safety systems as its petrol-powered counterpart with features such as ABS with EBD, dual airbags, reverse parking sensors, cornering stability control, speed-sensitive auto door lock and many more.

In terms of powertrain, the CNG variant of the Tata Tiago NRG will sport the same tried-and-tested, 1.2-litre naturally-aspirated engine as the Tata Tiago CNG. This engine produces 84.82bhp of peak power and 113Nm of peak torque in standard form. However, with the CNG fuel, this engine produces slightly lower power and torque outputs at 73bhp of power and 95Nm of torque.

Moreover, the upcoming Tata Tiago NRG CNG will come with a 5-speed manual transmission as standard. Also, the model will come with a slightly re-tuned suspension to cope with the added weight of the factory-fitted CNG kit.

The CNG version of the Tata Tiago is available in four trim levels and prices for the CNG version of the Tiago range starts at Rs 6.29 lakh (ex-showroom, India) for the base 'XE' variant, As such, we expect the upcoming new Tata Tiago NRG CNG to be priced around Rs 7.50 lakh, ex-showroom.

With the launch of the CNG variant of the Tata Tiago NRG CNG, the automaker is looking forward to further boost its sales figures and increasing its market share in the Indian automobile market.
