Tata Tiago EV Sets New Record - 10,000 Units Booked

To celebrate the achievement, Tata Motors has decided to retain the introductory prices for all the first 10,000 customers of the Tata Tiago EV electric hatchback. At present, the prices for the Tata Tiago EV starts at Rs 8.49 lakh (ex-showroom, India), and the booking amount is capped at Rs 21,000.

It is even speculated that Tata Motors could have received even more bookings for the newly launched Tata Tiago EV as many complained about the website crashing down.

As per Tata's plans, the automaker will be focusing on major cities and the company will be displaying the newly launched Tata Tiago EV electric hatchback in all leading malls in large cities to attract more potential buyers. In addition to that, the test drives for the Tata Tiago EV electric hatchback have been said to commence from late December 2022 onwards, and the deliveries are likely to commence from January 2023 onwards.

Speaking about deliveries, Tata motors has also stated that the Tata Tiago EV variants equipped with the larger 24kWh battery pack will be prioritized for production and the delivery date will rely on factors such as trim level, exterior colour, and date of booking.

Speaking about the newly launched Tata Tiago EV, the electric hatchback is available with two powertrain options - The base variant of the electric hatchback comes with a smaller 19.2kWh battery pack and 60bhp electric motor capable of producing 105Nm of peak torque. On the other hand, the higher variants are powered by a more powerful electric motor producing a healthier 74bhp of peak power and 114Nm of peak torque. In addition to that, these variants also come equipped with the larger 24kWh battery pack.

Coming to the range, Tata Motors claims that the Tata Tiago EV equipped with the larger 24kWh battery pack can do 315km on a single charge, whereas the base variant can do 250km on a single charge. In terms of performance, the automaker claims that the electric hatchback can hit 60km/h from a standstill in just 5.7 seconds.

Tata Tiago EV electric hatchback can charge from 10 per cent to 80 per cent of its battery capacity in just 57 minutes using a suitable DC fast charger, claims Tata Motors. Apart from the standard 3.3kW AC charger, Tata Tiago EV 'XZ+' and 'XZ+ Tech LUX' customers can opt for a faster 7.2kW AC charger by paying extra money, and this charger takes just 3 hours and 36 minutes to charge to full capacity.

In terms of features, the newly launched Tata Tiago EV electric hatchback comes equipped with features such as a large 7-inch infotainment unit, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, an 8-Speaker Harman audio system, ZConnect telematics, multiple airbags, ABS, EBD, rear parking sensors, rear parking camera, 2 drive modes, 4 regen modes and much more.
