Tata Nexon EV Max Teaser Out: Company Claims 300+ Kms Real-World Range
Tata Motors has released a new teaser featuring the upcoming Tata Nexon EV Max. According to the new teaser, the upcoming Tata Nexon EV Max can easily cover more than 300kms on a single charge.
The teaser shows that the upcoming Tata Nexon EV Max can complete return journey between cities such as Mumbai and Pune, Bangalore and Mysore, Delhi and Kurukshetra, Chennai and Pondicherry with its new larger battery pack.
The Nexon EV max features an uprated 40kWh lithium-ion battery pack and the model is likely to feature a more powerful 6.6kW AC charger for slightly faster charging capability.
To differentiate the new Tata Nexon EV Max from the standard model, the new model features a set of new 5-spoke alloy wheels and on the inside, the Nexon EV Max sports a stylish illuminated gear selector.
In addition to that, the upcoming Tata Nexon EV Max is likely to feature a slightly more powerful electric motor to compensate for the added weight due to the larger battery pack. According to sources, the new battery pack is likely to weigh around 80kgs to 100kgs more than the standard battery pack.
Comparing the upcoming Tata Nexon EV Max to the standard variant, Tata Motors claims a range of 312 kms on a single charge for the standard variant of the Nexon EV.
Speaking about the outgoing model of Tata Nexon EV, it features a 30.2kWh lithium-ion battery pack and uses a 3 Phase Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor with 127.23bhp of peak power and 245Nm of torque.
At present, the Tata Nexon EV range darts from Rs 14.79 lakh (ex-showroom, India) for the base XM variant and this price goes up to Rs 17.40 lakh (ex-showroom, India) for the top-of-the-line Dark XZ+ Lux variant, whereas the standard XZ+ Lux variant is priced at Rs 17.20 lakh (ex-showroom, India).
We expect the upcoming Tata Nexon EV Max to be around Rs 2 lakh more expensive than the XZ+ Lux variant of the standard Nexon EV given its larger battery pack and added feature list over the standard variant.
In addition to that, Tata Nexon EV is one of the best selling electric vehicles in the country and the brand holds a commanding 70 per cent market share in the personal EV segment.
Speaking about Tata Motors' dominance in the personal EV segment, the company recently made an announcement claiming that the company had sold more than 10,000 EVs in the country.
Thoughts About Tata Nexon EV Max
Thanks to its affordable price tag and well-judged specifications, the Tata Nexon EV has become one of the best selling electric vehicles in the country.
Sporting a larger 40kWh lithium-ion battery pack, the Tata Nexon EV Max will have a higher range on a single charge for a more peaceful drive. The increased range will also attract more people to consider EVs for daily commute.
That being said, Tata Motors is gearing up to become the biggest player for electric vehicles in India with the help of other entities under the Tata Group such as Tata Chemicals, Tata Autocomp, Tata Power, Croma, and Tata Motors Finance to successfully form an expansive e-mobility ecosystem in the country.
