Tata Motors Sales Report For February 2022: Continues Strong Performance
Tata Motors recorded a strong 77,733 unit sales in February 2022. This number includes both domestic and international markets. As per Tata Motors, the company registered 27 per cent year-on-year growth.

Dissecting the numbers, a majority of sales came from the domestic market by clocking 73,875 unit sales, out of which the commercial vehicle sales stood at 33,894 units, whereas the passenger vehicle sales stood at 39,981 units.

In comparison, Tata Motors sold 40,777 units of its passenger vehicles in January 2022, which is a record sales for Tata Motors since the inception of the company. This means, despite the fewer working days in the month of February 2022, Tata Motors racked up an almost similar number of sales, thus keeping the momentum of sales.

Out of the 39,981 passenger vehicles sold, 2,846 units were electric vehicles. In comparison, Tata Motors sold just 492 electric vehicles in the country during the same month last year. This means Tata Motors registered an astonishing 478 per cent sales growth in the domestic electric vehicle segment.

This is very promising, considering a lot more people are considering electric vehicles for their personal commute and this could potentially have a positive impact on the environment.

Apart from that, the domestic passenger vehicle ICE segment also saw a strong sales growth by registering 39 per cent sales growth by selling 37,135 unit sales.

The strong growth of Tata Motors in the domestic segment can be attributed to the brand's focus on improving the safety aspects of its passenger cars and also increasing awareness about the importance of safety in passenger cars.

Thanks to Tata Motors' efforts to improve the safety of its passenger vehicles, more people have become aware of the significance of safety in passenger vehicles.

Going back to December 2021, Tata Motors sold 35,300 units and overtook Hyundai to take second place in terms of passenger vehicle sales.

Thanks to Tata Motors' relentless campaign on automobile safety, more people have become aware of the importance of safety in cars. Moreover, this change in customer perspective can be seen even in entry-level hatchback buyers as they also seem to have an eye for safety.

This awareness has positively impacted the sales of Tata's passenger vehicles and the consistent sales performance in 2022 is proof of Tata Motors gaining market share.
