Skoda Slavia Features Revealed: Gets Fully Digital Instrument Cluster & More
Skoda Auto India has released a new 1-minute video that reveals a few key features of the upcoming Skoda Slavia sedan. From the video, it is clear that Skoda has equipped the upcoming Slavia with numerous features that are hard to resist for any Indian consumer.
As per the latest videos shared by Skoda, the upcoming Slavia sedan comes equipped with features such as an 8-inch fully digital driver display, ventilated front seats, wireless charger, Cruise Control, rain-sensing wipers, two USB-C ports at the front, climate control, rear AC vents, keyless entry, LED headlamps and many more.
Apart from that, Skoda Auto India have already commenced the production of Skoda Slavia in anticipation of strong demand for the sedan in the country as it is set to replace the Skoda Rapid in India.
According to Skoda, the production of Skoda Slavia takes place at Skoda's state-of-the-art manufacturing facility at Chakan, Pune.
Speaking about the Skoda Slavia, it is the Czech brand's second new model for India and according to sources, the brand is looking forward to launch the Skoda Slavia by February 2022 and it is the Czech brand's first sedan to be built under the company's 'India 2.0' strategy.
Under this strategy, Skoda aims to set up a profitable business in the country by reduceing the manufacturing cost of its vehicles by aggressively localizing the production as much as possible without affecting the overall quality that has been associated with the brand.
Speaking about reducing production cost, Skoda Slavia uses the Czech brand's versatile MQB-A0-IN platform, which also happens to underpin the recently launched Skoda Kushaq SUV.
Thanks to the MQB-A0 IN platform, we also expect the upcoming Skoda Slavia to come with good interior space and high ground clearance. Thanks to platform sharing, the production cost pf the Skoda Slavia will be lot less.
Apart from that, the upcoming Skoda Slavia is also likely to be powered by the same two engine options that power the Skoda Kushaq SUV. This means the upcoming Skoda Slavia will come with1.0-litre TSI petrol engine with 113bhp and 178NM of torque and a more potent 1.5-litre TSI petrol engine with 148bhp and 250Nm of torque.
The Skoda Slavia will come with 6-speed manual transmission as standard. However, the more powerful 1.5-litre TSI engine will get the 7-speed DSG transmission as an option, whereas the 1.0-litre version will get a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox.
We expect, Skoda to price the upcoming Skoda Slavia aggressively yet a smidge above the current ex-showroom price of the Skoda Rapid despite its substantial and attractive feature list.
Thoughts About Skoda Slavia
Though the Skoda Kushaq SUV and the Skoda Slavia are built on the same platform, the upcoming Skoda Slavia clearly offers a bit more features and has the potential to become a threat to Kushaq SUV.
