Skoda Slavia Expected Price Rs 10 to 18 Lakh; Launch On Feb 28

The next variant is the 'Ambition' trim level with a 1.0-litre TSI engine and 6-speed manual transmission is expected to cost Rs 1.80 lakh more than the base variant at Rs 12.60 lakh (ex-showroom). Moreover, the top-end 'Style' variant with an identical drivetrain could cost Rs 14.50 lakh (ex-showroom).

However, at Rs 16.70 lakh (ex-showroom), the Skoda Slavia 'Style' equipped with the 1.5-litre TSI engine is the priciest of the manual transmission variants.

Unlike the manual transmission variants, the Skoda Slavia automatic range is expected to start from mid-variant with prices starting from Rs 14.00 lakh for the 'Ambition' trim powered by the 1.0-litre engine and a 6-speed automatic gearbox.

In comparison, the top-end trim level with identical engine and gearbox options costs Rs 1.75 lakh more at Rs 15.75 lakh (ex-showroom).

However, it is the Skoda Slavia 'Style' equipped with the 1.5-litre TSI engine and the 7-speed DSG gearbox will be the priciest of the lot and could be priced at Rs 17.70 lakh.

It is also worth mentioning that the 1.5-litre TSI engine could be offered on the top-end 'Style' trim levels of the upcoming Skoda Slavia sedan.

According to Skoda, the 1.0-litre variant of the Skoda Slavia sedan will be launched initially on 28th February 2022, followed by the launch of 1.5-litre variants of the Skoda Slavia on 3rd March 2022.

Previously, the launch dates for the upcoming Skoda Slavia sedan was revealed by Zac Hollis (Director, Sales and Marketing for Skoda Auto India) via Twitter.

Speaking about the Skoda Slavia, it is an upcoming mid-size sedan that will replace the ageing Skoda Rapid in India and it is the Czech brand's second model in India to be built under the 'India 2.0' strategy and the sedan is powered by two engine options.

While the 1.0-litre TSI petrol engine produces 113bhp of peak power and 178Nm of peak torque. The larger 1.5-litre TSI petrol engine produces 150bhp of peak power and 250Nm of peak torque.

As mentioned, the upcoming Skoda Slavia will also come with a choice of manual and automatic transmissions irrespective of the engine options. While both engine variants share the 6-speed manual transmission, the automatic transmissions in both vehicles are vastly different.

While the Skoda Slavia equipped with the 1.0-litre TSI engine gets the 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox, the Skoda Slavia equipped with the more potent 1.5-litre TSI engine comes equipped with an advanced 7-speed DSG transmission.

Thoughts About The Skoda Slavia Expected Pricing

With a starting price of just under Rs 11 lakh, the Skoda Slavia does undercut its main rival, the Honda City. However, at Rs 17.70 lakh (ex-showroom, India), the Skoda Slavia equipped with the 1.5-litre TSI engine and 7-speed DSG gearbox is rather steeply-priced.
