The design of the Volkswagen Virtus is very Volkswagen-like with simple and sharp lines. This design gives the Volkswagen Virtus very understated looks. Thanks to this design, we expect Volkswagen Virtus to age well over the years.

Apart from that, the large blacked out portion on the front bumper and blacked-out taillamps add a lot of sportiness to the sedan.

The GT variant comes with Red dashboard surrounds that adds a touch of sportiness to the cabin.

Thanks to its MQB-A0 IN platform, the new Volkswagen Virtus is a much bigger sedan than the Volkswagen Vento sedan it replaces, which is the same platform that underpins the Volkswagen Taigun SUV as well.

Moreover, the Volkswagen Virtus sedan is 4,561mm long, 1,752mm wide and 1,507mm tall. Also, the German sedan has a wheelbase of 2,651mm. Moreover, thanks to its large dimension, the boot space of the Volkswagen Virtus is one of the largest at 521-litres.

This makes the Volkswagen Virtus 20mm longer and 20mm taller than the Skoda Slavia based on the same platform. Thanks to this additional few millimetres, expect the Volkswagen Virtus to offer a roomier interior and comfortable rear seating.

The new Volkswagen Virtus also uses the same powertrain options as the Volkswagen Taigun as both vehicles use an identical platform. This means the new Volkswagen Virtus is powered by two engine options.

The base engine option in the Volkswagen Virtus is a 1.0-litre TSI petrol engine with 113bhp of peak power and 178Nm of peak torque. This engine comes mated to either a 6-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission.

The next engine option in the Volkswagen Virtus sedan is a much more powerful 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder, TSI petrol engine with 150bhp of peak power and 250Nm of peak torque. Though this engine sports an almost identical 6-speed manual transmission as the 1.0 TSI variant, the automatic transmission mated to this engine is a more sophisticated 7-speed DSG unit.
