New Maruti Suzuki Baleno Teased: Comes With Uprated Infotainment Unit & Many More

As the Indo-Japanese car manufacturer anticipates high demand for its upcoming premium hatchback, the company has already commenced the production of the new Maruti Suzuki Baleno ahead of its launch. This demand is expected as it is a major launch for Maruti Suzuki's Nexa range of dealerships after a large gap.

According to sources, the production of the updated premium hatchback takes place at the brand's manufacturing plant in Gujrat and the picture of the new Baleno at the production plant was recently shared online. This picture quickly became viral on various social media platforms.

When launched, the new Maruti Suzuki Baleno will take on other premium hatchbacks such as the Hyundai i20, Tata Altroz and Honda Jazz in India. However, it is rumoured that the outgoing version of the Maruti Suzuki Baleno might be sold through the brand's Arena dealerships across the country as it is still one of the highest-selling models in India.

That being said, as Nexa showrooms are aimed to give customers a more premium experience, the updated new Maruti Suzuki Baleno will be sold exclusively through Nexa dealerships across the country.

Speaking about the new Maruti Suzuki Baleno, the updated premium hatchback features major updates on the exterior such as revised front and backend with updated front grille, LED headlamps, front bumper, fog lamps, rear bumper, new L-shaped taillamps and many more.

On the inside, the updated Baleno also features a reprofiled dashboard that houses an all-new 9.0-inch touchscreen infotainment unit and comes equipped with other features such as a heads-up display, revised instrument console, flat-bottom steering wheel, and a few more.

According to sources, the new 9.0-inch infotainment system runs on an improved operating system which has been developed along with Toyota.

Apart from this, the updated Maruti Suzuki Baleno may come with attractive features such as Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, wireless charging pad, Suzuki Connect telematics and much more.

The new Maruti Suzuki Baleno is also likely to feature strengthened underpinnings and better grade steel and as a result, the upcoming premium hatchback may even get a 5-star safety rating.

The upcoming Maruti Suzuki Baleno is most likely to continue using the same tried-and-tested powertrains from the outgoing model. While the 1.2-litre naturally-aspirated K12 petrol engine produces a healthy 82bhp and 113Nm of torque, the 1.2-litre Dualjet petrol engine produces slightly more power at 89bhp, however, the torque output remains identical.

Both engines come mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard, however, the CVT automatic gearbox can only be had with a VVT engine. However, the updated Maruti Suzuki Baleno may come with an AMT gearbox instead of the CVT unit.
