Exterior Changes

At a glance, it is clear that the exterior and interior of the 2022 Maruti Suzuki Baleno hatchback has been subjected to many changes and now looks a lot more premium and upmarket, thanks to its redesigned elements all-around.

At the front, the new 2022 Maruti Suzuki Baleno comes with a pair of sharper-looking LED projector headlights, a redesigned front grille and a more aggressive-looking front bumper.



At the rear, the new 2022 Maruti Suzuki Baleno sports new split LED tail lamps that replaces the older single unit taillamps and the redesigned bumper gives the hatchback a better stance. However, the silhouette of the new 2022 Maruti Suzuki Baleno remains quite similar to the earlier model.

However, the new 2022 Maruti Suzuki Baleno does include a set of new diamond-cut alloy wheels and chrome strips that run along the lower half of the window line.



Interior Changes & Feature Additions

The interior of the new 2022 Maruti Suzuki Baleno feels all-new with its redesigned dashboard with larger Smart Play Pro+ touchscreen infotainment and new horizontal AC vents.

Engine & Gearbox

Moreover, the 2022 Maruti Suzuki Baleno will be offered with just one engine option. This engine is a 1.2-litre naturally-aspirated petrol engine with a 12-volt mild-hybrid system. According to Maruti Suzuki, this engine produces 89bhp of peak power and 113Nm of peak torque.

Apart from that, the new Maruti Suzuki Baleno comes with a 5-speed manual gearbox like the previous model. However, the CVT gearbox of the earlier model has been replaced with a 5-speed AMT unit.



The new 2022 Maruti Suzuki Baleno also comes with a boot space of 318 litres, which is decent for a premium hatchback in India.

Improved Safety

One of the biggest changes on the new Baleno is under the skin as the new Baleno weighs around 50-70 kgs heavier than the previous iterations. The new 2022 Maruti Suzuki Baleno equipped with manual transmission now weighs between 920kgs to 955kgs, whereas the AMT variant weighs 935kgs to 960kgs.



The new 2022 Maruti Suzuki Baleno also comes with safety features such as 6 airbags, ESP, Hill-Hold Assist, ABS, EBD, reverse parking sensors, ISOFIX anchoring points and a few more.

Apart from that, the new 2022 Maruti Suzuki Baleno also features larger 14-inch disc brakes and an improved suspension system.
