The month of May looks very promising and exciting as various car manufacturers are gearing up to launch their new products in India.
Skoda Kushaq Monte Carlo Edition
Skoda is gearing up to launch the 'Monte Carlo' edition of its Kushaq SUV in India. According to Skoda, the Czech automaker is planning to launch the special edition of the SUV on May 9.
Compared to the standard model of the Skoda Kushaq SUV, the upcoming Monte Carlo Edition of the SUV features more than a few cosmetic upgrades and features to attract more customers. However, the Monte Carlo Edition is offered in just two colour options - Red, and White.
Moreover, the Skoda Kushaq Monte Carlo Edition is mechanically identical to the standard model and the SUV is likely to be offered with both the 1.0 TSI and 1.5 TSI engine options.
Jeep Meridian
The new Jeep Meridian is the 7-seater version of the Jeep Compass SUV. In terms of design, the Jeep Meridianlooks a lot more premium than the Jeep Compass -Thanks to its extended wheelbase over the Jeep Compass.
The upcoming Jeep Meridian SUV is powered by the same 2.0-litre turbocharged 4-cylinder diesel engine from the Jeep Compass. However, Jeep has tuned this engine differently to suit the character of the SUV. Moreover, this unit comes mated to the tried-and-tested 9-speed automatic transmission.
We expect Jeep to reveal the prices of the upcoming Jeep Meridian SUV by the end of May this year.
Volkswagen Virtus
Though Volkswagen has fully revealed the Virtus sedan in India, the German automaker is yet to reveal the price of the Vento replacement. According to sources, Volkswagen will announce the prices of the Virtus sedan on June 9.
Speaking about the Volkswagen Virtus, the sedan is based on the same MQB-A0 IN platform that also underpins other Volkswagen Group vehicles such as the Volkswagen Taigun, Skoda Kushaq and Skoda Slavia.
In terms of powertrain, the upcoming Volkswagen Virtus comes with two engine options. The base engine is the 1.0-litre TSI engine with 113bhp of peak power and 175Nm of peak torque. The next engine option is the 1.5-litre TSI engine with 148bhp of peak power and 250Nm of peak torque.
Mercedes-Benz C-Class
Though Mercedes-Benz has fully revealed the new Mercedes-Benz C-Class in India, the German automaker is yet to reveal the prices of the new sedan. According to Mercedes-Benz, the price of the new C-Class will be revealed on May 10.
In addition to that, the bookings for the new Mercedes-Benz C-Class is already underway in the country.
When launched, the new 2022 Mercedes-Benz C-Class will be offered with three engine options and all three engine options sport a 48V belt-integrated starter generator capable of producing 19.7bhp and 200Nm of torque.
Tata Nexon EV (40kWh)
Tata Motors is looking forward to launching the long-range version of the Tata Nexon EV with a larger 40kWh battery pack. Though this model was supposed to launch by the end of April, the ongoing chip shortage postponed the launch of this electric SUV.
The biggest change on the upcoming Tata Nexon EV long-range is its larger 40kWh battery pack. Thanks to this larger battery pack, the new Tata Nexon EV is expected to cover more than 400kms on a single charge.
In addition to the larger battery pack, the new Tata Nexon EV long-range is also likely to get a few additional features to justify the slightly more premium price tag.
