New BMW X3 Diesel Variant Launched In India: Prices Start From Rs 65.50 Lakh
BMW recently launched the new BMW X3 SUV in India in its petrol-only avatar. However, the German automaker has now launched the diesel variant of the premium 5-seater SUV in the country.
However, unlike the petrol-powered variants, the diesel variant is available in only 1 trim level and it has been priced at Rs 65.50 lakh (ex-showroom, India). The trim level on offer in the diesel-powered BMW X3 SUV is the xDrive20d Luxury Edition.
With the latest update, the BMW X3 looks a bit more sporty with its slightly larger single-piece kidney grille and flatter-looking LED headlight setup.
Apart from that, the headlights now feature adaptive LED lighting with Matrix function. Moreover, the black border and the narrower light graphic gives the new BMW X3 a more futuristic and sporty vibe.
The interior of the new BMW X3 features a new panoramic glass roof, a welcome light carpet, gesture control, a large 12.3-inch instrument cluster with 3D navigation, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, parking assistant plus with 360-degree camera, 464W Harman Kardon Surround Sound system with 16 speakers, and many more.
In terms of practicality, the new BMW X3 has a boot capacity of 550 litres and can be further expanded to 1600 litres by folding down the 40/20/40 split rear seats.
The new BMW X3 xDrive20d is powered by a 4-cylinder, 2.0-litre turbocharged diesel engine. This engine produces 190bhp and 400Nm of torque. According to BMW, the X3 SUV in this configuration can accelerate from a standstill to 100km/h in just 7.9 seconds and attain a top speed of 213km/h.
In comparison, the recently launched petrol variant of the BMW X3 is powered by a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine with 252bhp and 350 Nm of torque. In this configuration, the BMW X3 can reach 100km/h in just 6.6 seconds and achieve a top speed of 235 km/h.
The new BMW X3 als0 comes with advanced safety features such as Electronically controlled 'Automatic Differential Brakes/Locks' (ADB-X), Dynamic Traction Control' (DTC), Hill Start Assist and Hill Descent Control.
While other safety systems include features such as airbags, electric parking brake with auto hold, side-impact protection, Dynamic Stability Control (DSC), Cornering Brake Control (CBC), Attentiveness Assistance, electronic vehicle immobilizer and crash sensor, ISOFIX child seat mounting and many more.
Thoughts About The New BMW X3 xDrive20d
The diesel variant of the BMW X3 still makes a lot of sense in the Indian market as some customers still prefer the outright fuel economy offered by the diesel powertrains. However, it must be said that the petrol-powered variant of the BMW X3 puts down a lot more power and it can put a much bigger smile on your face as well.
