MG Motor India today announced that the company has achieved the 1 lakh cumulative sales milestone in the country. Speaking about MG Motor, the Chinese-owned British automaker made its debut in India three years ago with its MG Hector SUV.
At present, there are five products under MG Motor India's product portfolio - MG Hector, MG Hector Plus, MG Astor, MG ZS EV, and MG Gloster. Moreover, MG Motor India currently has one manufacturing plant in India.
This state-of-the-art production facility is located in Halol, Gujarat with an annual production facility of 80,000 vehicles with almost 2,500 workers.
Moreover, the company claims that it has successfully integrated 37 per cent women employees to its workforce and aims to achieve 50 per cent women workforce by December 2023.

In addition to all the above features, the newly launched MG Astor SUV also comes packed with features such as an AI personal assistant, a 360-degree surround-view camera, 6-way power-adjustable driver's seat, electronic parking brake, ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System), Blind Spot Monitor, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, collision warning, driver alert, adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot detection, rear cross-traffic alert, and many more.
In terms of powertrain, the MG Astor comes with two engine options. The base engine is a 1.5-litre naturally-aspirated petrol engine with 108.5bhp and 144Nm of torque. On the other hand, the more powerful engine is a turbocharged 1.3-litre petrol engine with 138bhp and 220Nm of torque.
