Maruti Suzuki XL6 CNG Launched At Rs 12.24 Lakh – Available In Just One Variant

It is also worth mentioning that the newly launched Maruti Suzuki XL6 S-CNG is available in only one trim level - The entry-level 'Zeta'. Moreover, the CNG variant of the Maruti Suzuki XL6 is around Rs 95,000 more than the equivalent petrol-only variant of the MUV.

This is a shame because Maruti Suzuki could have launched a mid-variant of the XL6 CNG MUV as it will not give interested customers a bit more flexibility, but it is also likely to attract more customers to the NEXA lineup.

The newly launched Maruti Suzuki XL6 S-CNG is powered by the same 1.5-litre, naturally-aspirated, 4-cylinder engine from the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga CNG. Moreover, the CNG variant of this powertrain produces 87bhp of peak power at 5,500rpm and 121.5Nm of peak torque at 4,200rpm while using CNG as the combustion fuel.

However, the same powertrain using petrol as fuel produces a healthier 99bhp of peak power at 6,000rpm and 136Nm of peak torque at 4,400rpm. In terms of gearbox options, the Maruti Suzuki XL6 MUV comes equipped with a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard.

That being said, one of the reasons for the growing popularity of CNG vehicles in the Indian market is due to the low running cost it provides - A courtesy of its high fuel efficiency and low fuel cost. That being said, the newly launched Maruti Suzuki XL6 MUV is claimed to return a fuel efficiency figure of 26.32km/kg using the CNG and the model comes with a 60-litre CNG tank.

Though the CNG variant of the Maruti Suzuki XL6 is offered only in the base 'Zeta' trim level, the MUV comes equipped with features such as push-button start, cruise control, a large 7-inch touchscreen infotainment unit with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, steering-mounted controls, power windows, rear parking sensors and many more.

In addition to all this, Maruti Suzuki XL6 can also be owned through a monthly subscription program, for which the pricing starts as low as Rs 30,821.

The launch of the Maruti Suzuki XL6 S-CNG will definitely boost the sales figures of the Indo-Japanese automaker, especially in tier 1 and tier 2 cities. However, Maruti Suzuki could have launched a mid-variant of the XL6 CNG MUV as it will not give interested customers a bit more flexibility, but it is also likely to attract more customers to the NEXA lineup.
