Maruti Suzuki July 2022 Sales Report - Y-o-Y Sales Up By 6.82 Per Cent
India's largest carmaker Maruti Suzuki has revealed its sales numbers for the month of July 2022. Maruti Suzuki sold a total of 1,42,850 passenger vehicles in the Indian market last month.

Maruti Suzuki also sold 2,816 light commercial vehicles (Super Carry) and also sent out 9,939 cars to other OEMs (Toyota) in the month of July. India's largest carmaker by volume and market share also exported 20,311 cars to markets around the world in July 2022.
Domestic sales were up by 6.82 per cent (9,118 units) Year-over-Year compared to July 2021, when Maruti Suzuki sold a total of 1,33,732 units in the Indian market. Month-over-Month numbers were also in the black rising by 16.44 per cent (20,165 units) compared to June 2022, when the carmaker sold 1,22,685 units in the domestic market.
Maruti domestic sales included 20,333 units of its entry-level Alto and S-Presso hatchbacks. Sales of the Alto and S-Presso were up by 648 units compared to the same period last year when Maruti Suzuki sold 19,685 units of the two hatchbacks. Maruti introduced an updated version of the S-Presso last month with more features as standard and is set to introduce the new Alto K10 later this month.
Sales of Maruti's compact vehicles (Baleno, Celerio, Dzire, Ignis, Swift, Tour S and WagonR) for the month of July stood at 84,818 units. Sales of these compact sub 4-metre hatchbacks and sedans stood were up by 14,550 units compared to July 2021, when Maruti sold 70,268 units of these cars.
Sales of the mid-sized Ciaz sedan stood at 1,379 units in July 2022, down by 71 units compared to the same period last year when Maruti sold 1,450 units.
Sales of Maruti Suzuki's lineup of utility vehicles which include the likes of the Brezza, and S-Cross SUVs and the Ertiga and XL6 MPVs accounted stood at 23,272 units. UV sales fell by 9,000 units compared to July 2021's 32,272 units. Maruti Suzuki introduced the new Grand Vitara in July which will is expected to go on sale in the near future.
Maruti's Eeco continues to be the most dominant van in the country with the carmaker selling 13,048 units in July 2022. Eeco sales were up by 2,991 units compared to July 2021's 10,057 units.
Thoughts About Maruti Suzuki's July Sales
Maruti Suzuki continues to be the most dominant carmaker in the country with regards to sales numbers with the marque selling 1,42,850 units in the domestic market alone, which is more than the sales of the next three biggest carmakers combined. With the new Alto and Grand Vitara arriving imminently, Maruti looks set to once again try and wrest control of half the Indian car market in the future.
