Indian automotive giant Maruti Suzuki has opened bookings for the 2022 Ertiga MPV ahead of its launch on the 15th of April. Customers can book the new Ertiga by putting down a deposit of Rs 11,000 at either a Maruti Suzuki Arena dealership or the company's website.
The Ertiga's mid-cycle refresh is set to bring a whole lot of changes to the MPV including under the hood. Reports suggest that the new K15C DualJet DualVVT which features Maruti's Smart hybrid tech will produce an extra 10bhp compared to the current K15B unit.
What is confirmed is that the 1.5-litre K15C powerplant for the 2022 Ertiga will be offered with either a 5-speed manual gearbox or a brand new 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission with paddle shifters. The new 6-speed automatic replaces the ancient 4-speed unit found on the current Ertiga.
Other changes that will arrive onboard the new Ertiga include a new grille and a 7-inch Smartplay Pro touchscreen infotainment display with connected car features from the 'Suzuki Connect' setup.
Maruti Suzuki will also offer the new 2022 Ertiga with its S-CNG setup. For the 2022 model, the S-CNG will be offered with the VXi and ZXi variants of the Ertiga.
Announcing the opening of bookings for the new Ertiga, Shashank Srivastava, Senior Executive Director (Marketing & Sales), Maruti Suzuki India Limited, said, "With over 750,000 delighted customers, Ertiga has been a game-changer in India's MPV market. We are pleased to introduce the Next-Gen Ertiga, that redefines style, space, technology, safety, comfort and convenience of traveling together.
