Maruti Suzuki Baleno CNG Launched At Rs 8.28 Lakh - Available In Two Trim Levels
Maruti Suzuki is aggressively tapping into the ever-growing CNG passenger car segment in India by launching the CNG version of the Baleno premium hatchback in the country. Moreover, the newly launched Maruti Suzuki Baleno S-CNG is available in two trim levels - Delta and Zeta, and prices for the model start from Rs 8.28 lakh (ex-showroom, India) for the base 'Delta' variant of the CNG hatchback.

Diving into the details, the Maruti Suzuki Baleno S-CNG premium hatchback is the first CNG model in the Nexa lineup of passenger cars in India along with the Maruti Suzuki XL6 S-CNG MUV.
"Baleno S-CNG and XL6 S-CNG have been developed keeping these uncompromising Nexa customers in mind. Baleno S-CNG will be the country's one of the most powerful premium CNG hatchbacks, while XL6 S-CNG will be a premium CNG MPV." Said, Mr Shashank Srivastava, Senior Executive Officer, Marketing and Sales, Maruti Suzuki India.

It is also worth mentioning that the newly launched Maruti Suzuki Baleno S-CNG premium hatchback is priced at Rs 95,000 more than the equivalent petrol-powered variants of the Maruti Suzuki Baleno hatchback. This means that the 'Zeta' variant of the newly launched Maruti Suzuki Baleno S-CNG hatchback is priced at Rs 9.21 lakh (ex-showroom, India).

In terms of powertrain, the Maruti Suzuki Baleno S-CNG hatchback is powered by a 1.2-litre, 4-cylinder, naturally-aspirated CNG-compatible engine. Moreover, this engine comes exclusively mated to a 5-speed manual transmission.

Coming to the numbers, the Maruti Suzuki Baleno S-CNG hatchback produces 76bhp of peak power and 98.5Nm of peak torque using CNG fuel. However, this engine can produce a much healthier 89bhp of peak power and 113Nm of peak torque while using petrol as fuel.

Other than that, the newly launched Maruti Suzuki Baleno S-CNG hatchback comes equipped with a large 55-litre CNG tank, and the Indo-Japanese automaker claims that the newly-launched CNG version of the Baleno premium hatchback can do 30.61km/kg of CNG.

That being said, with the launch of the CNG variants of the Maruti Suzuki Baleno premium hatchback, Toyota will also be launching the rebadged versions of these CNG-powered premium hatchbacks under the 'Glanza' badging.

In terms of features, the newly launched Maruti Suzuki Baleno premium hatchback comes with features such as LED projector headlamps, a large 7.0-inch infotainment unit with Apple CarPlay and Android auto connectivity, voice assistance, connected car tech, OTA updates, start/stop button, 6-airbags, rear-view camera, rear parking sensors, power windows, electrically adjustable ORVMs, and much more.
