Mahindra XUV700 SUV Records 1.5 Lakh Bookings

This is a remarkable feat, especially considering the waiting period for the Mahindra XUV700 SUV now stands at more than 2 years and customers are still flocking into the showrooms across the country to book the SUV.

Looking back in time, the bookings for the Mahindra XUV700 SUVs were opened earlier in October and the latest SUV from Mahindra crossed 25,000 bookings in just 1 hour.

Later, the new Mahindra XUV700 SUVs also broke a series of records at the Mahindra SUV Proving Track (MSPT), the most highlighted record being the National 24-hour Endurance Record, where all four Mahindra XUV700s participated clocked over 4000 kms with an average speed ranging between 170-180 kmph.

This extraordinary feat proved the reliability of the Mahindra XUV700 SUVs and added more interest among potential customers.

Speaking about Mahindra XUV700, the SUV comes with 3 engine options - One petrol engine and two diesel engines. Gearbox options include a 6-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed automatic gearbox.

However, it is to be noted that the entry-level diesel engine in the lower state of tune is only available with a 6-speed manual transmission.

Coming to the specification of these powertrains, the petrol engine is a 2.0-litre, turbocharged engine (TGDi mStallion) with 197bhp of peak power and 380Nm of peak torque. While, both the diesel engines are 2.2-litre turbocharged engines (CRDi mHawk), the more powerful version produces an astonishing 182bhp of peak power and 450Nm of peak torque.

On the other hand, the diesel powertrain used in the lower variant puts out a respectable 153bhp of peak power and 360Nm of peak torque - Which itself is plenty for an SUV of this size.

Mahindra has also loaded the new XUV700 SUV with many features and technology and the feature list includes dual-zone climate control, a large 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment unit, an equally large digital driver's display, a panoramic sunroof, electronic parking brake, wireless charging, a multi-function flat-bottom steering wheel, a 360-degree camera, powered front seats with memory function, drive modes and a few more.

While the feature list is long and wide, the safety systems are even more astonishing with safety systems such as seven airbags, ABS with EBD, ESP, Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and a lot more. Out of this, the ADAS is an active safety feature and includes features such as adaptive cruise control, lane keep assistance, emergency braking and a few more.
