Mahindra has partnered with electric mobility infrastructure providers to provide the necessary infrastructure ahead of the launch of the new XUV400. The new partners Mahindra has tied up with include Jio-bp, Statiq, and Charge+Zone. Through these partners, Mahindra electric vehicles' owners will have access to the necessary infrastructure needed during ownership of Mahindra's EVs.

India's electric passenger vehicle segment is currently dominated by Tata Motors with vehicles like the Nexon EV, Tigor EV, and now the Tiago EV. However, Mahindra is all set to challenge Tata's dominance in the space in the coming years.

Earlier this year, Mahindra revealed its Born Electric Vision through which, Mahindra plans to launch several electric SUVs in India and several international markets. The launch of these SUVs is spread out over the next few years. However, there is one Mahindra SUV that is well within reach.

In September this year, Mahindra unveiled the much-awaited XUV400. The SUV features promising performance and this is something we experienced firsthand when we drove the XUV400 at Mahindra's Chennai facility. Test drives for the electric SUV are set to begin in December 2022 and deliveries will commence in January 2023.

Ahead of the XUV400's launch, Mahindra is setting up the necessary infrastructure needed to keep the SUV charged and ready to go at all times. Charging infrastructure is one of the biggest necessities when it comes to the adoption of electric vehicles and hence, Mahindra has now partnered with the right brands to give buyers of the XUV400 peace of mind.

Jio-bp is an Indian fuels and mobility joint venture between Reliance Industries and British Petroleum Company. The brand has set up numerous fueling stations across India and each of these fueling stations has multiple EV charging stations. Jio-bp promises to bring new innovations to the world of fueling and mobility.

Statiq on the other hand is an Indian startup that is well on its way to becoming the largest EV charging network in the country. The Statiq app can be used to locate the nearest charger and the brand promises a seamless charging experience. Charge+Zone is one of the largest EV fleet charging solutions provider in India with massive grids installed for various organisations in the country. This includes public transport providers.

Together with these partners, Mahindra aims at providing buyers of the XUV400 with a great ownership experience. The XUV400 is powered by a 39.4kWh battery pack that sends current to a front-axle mounted motor that produces 150bhp and 310Nm. The SUV has a claimed range of 456 kilometres on a single charge and can be charged from 0-80 percent in just 50 minutes while plugged into a 50kW DC fast charger.

The Mahindra XUV400 has the right specifications and the right features. It looks good and drives well. Now, by partnering with the right infrastructure providers, Mahindra is further equipping buyers of the electric SUV to do more with their EV. The number of chargers in India will surely increase and there will come a day when range anxiety isn't really bothersome.
