Mahindra May Soon Launch The Facelifted Version Of The XUV300: Top-End Variants Silently Updated

Though the Mahindra XUV300 still looks somewhat fresh, the compact SUV deserves a facelift to make it a bit more contemporary as it was launched way back in 2019.

With tight competition in the sub-4m segment in the country, it is essential for Mahindra to roll out an update soon for the XUV300 to keep up with the competition. Moreover, Mahindra has silently updated the top-end W8 variant of the 2022 iteration of the Mahindra XUV300.

However, with this new silent update, Mahindra has reduced the size of the alloy wheels offered with the top-end W8 and W8(O) variants of the Mahindra XUV300.

This means the top-end W8 variant of the 2022 iteration of the Mahindra XUV300 now comes equipped with smaller 16-inch alloy wheels instead of the 17-inch alloy wheels offered with the previous top-end variants of the Mahindra XUV300.

Moreover, the width of the tyres has been also reduced from 215-section to 205-section as part of the update. While this change may positively impact the fuel economy, it will affect the grip levels of the Mahindra XUV300 and may not have as much grip as the previous model.

However, this subtle change will benefit Mahindra, thanks to lower production costs. Despite the smaller alloy wheels and skinnier tyres, the 2022 iteration of the Mahindra XUV300 does not look under tyred in anyways.

Like before, the W8 variant of the 2022 iteration of the Mahindra XUV300 uses simpler silver-coloured alloy wheels, whereas the W8(O) variant of the 2022 iteration of the Mahindra XUV300 uses a bit more stylish and premium looking 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels.

Despite being more than 2 years in production without any major revisions to the equipment levels, the Mahindra XUV300 still comes with decent equipment levels such as a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment unit with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, an electric sunroof, rain-sensing wipers, auto AC, connected car tech, and much more.

In terms of safety, the Mahindra XUV300 is well-equipped with 7-airbags, corner braking control, ABS, EBD, Traction Control, and front and rear parking sensors.

The Mahindra XUV300 is powered by two engine options. The 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine produces 109bhp of peak power and 200Nm of peak torque, whereas the 1.5-litre turbocharged diesel unit produces 115bhp of peak power and 300Nm of peak torque.

Moreover, both these engines can be specified with 6-speed manual or automatic transmissions.

Thoughts About Mahindra XUV300 Update

Mahindra XUV300 deserves a facelift as the compact SUV was launched way back in 2019. However, this recent update to the Mahindra XUV300 seems to focus on reducing the production cost.
