Mahindra Sales Rise By 59% Y-o-Y In June 2022
Indian carmaker Mahindra has revealed its June 2022 sales numbers. Mahindra sold a total of 26,880 passenger vehicles in the month of June 2022.
Indian carmaker Mahindra has revealed its June 2022 sales numbers. Mahindra sold a total of 26,880 passenger vehicles in the month of June 2022. Mahindra also recorded its second consecutive highest SUV sales quarter in Q1 2022-23.
Speaking about Mahindra's sales numbers for the first quarter and the month of June, Veejay Nakra, President, Automotive Division, M&M Ltd. said, "Q1FY23 is our second consecutive highest SUV sales quarter. This has been made possible due to continued robust demand for all our brands including XUV700, Thar, Bolero and XUV300. We sold 26620 SUVs in June and overall, 54096 vehicles, registering a growth of 64%. XUV700 achieved yet another milestone of being awarded the coveted Global NCAP 'Safer Choice' Award for being the safest car in India. This accolade is only available to automakers achieving the highest levels of safety for vehicles sold in India. We had a blockbuster launch of the Scorpio-N and it has generated tremendous buzz and anticipation. The supply chain situation continues to remain dynamic; we are monitoring the situation closely."

Mahindra's total of 26,880 units sold in June 2022 included 26,620 SUVs along with 260 cars and vans (including EVs). Year-over-Year sales numbers compared to the same period last year grew by nearly 59 per cent (9,967 units) with SUV sales rising by 60 per cent. In June 2021, Mahindra sold a total of 16,913 passenger vehicles in India.
Month-over-Month metrics compared to May 2022 were down by just 24 units or 0.09 per cent. In May 2022, Mahindra sold a total of 26,904 units in the Indian market.
Mahindra's Year-over-Year numbers for the first quarter of the financial year 2022-23 were up by 77 per cent over the same period last year. Mahindra sold 76,310 passenger vehicles in the month Q1 F23 compared to the 43,202 units sold in Q1 F22. While its SUV division grew by 77 per cent Y-o-Y in Q1 F23, the cars and vans division was also up by 41 per cent.
June marked a very important month for the Mumbai-based carmaker which launched the new 3rd generation of the Scorpio dubbed the Mahindra Scorpio-N in the Indian market at an aggressive introductory price of just Rs 11.99 lakhs. Pre-bookings and test drives for the new Scorpio-N will begin on the 5th of July with actual bookings starting on the 30th of July.
Mahindra will be unveiling its all-new lineup of Born Electric SUVs this month. Teasers for these upcoming electric SUVs designed by Mahindra Advanced Design Studio in the United Kingdom have teased the arrival of three three all-electric vehicles. These new electric vehicles will mark Mahindra's re-entry into the electric vehicle market after quite a bit of time in the wilderness.
