Mahindra Gearing Up To Launch Bolero Neo Plus: Available In 7 Seater & 9 Seater Variants

Speaking about the Mahindra Bolero Neo Plus, it is not exactly an all-new model, but a slightly improved version of the now-discontinued Mahindra TUV300 Plus.

One of the highlights of the upcoming new Mahindra Bolero Neo Plus is that the SUV is also available in a 9-seater configuration. While this may sound a bit cramped, rural parts of the country like this concept.

So, why didn't this concept work in TUV300 Plus? This is because many of its target audience couldn't relate the TUV300 or the TUV300 Plus with the Bolero, an SUV famous for its reliability and robustness.

This is one of the reasons why Mahindra has relaunched the TUV300 as 'Bolero Neo'. By doing this, Mahindra's target audience could get acquainted well with the newer model.

As per the leaked homologation documents, the upcoming new Mahindra Bolero Neo Plus comes powered by the same 2.2-litre turbocharged diesel engine that powered the now-discontinued TUV300 Plus SUV.

This engine produces a healthy 120bhp of peak power at 4,000rpm and 280Nm torque between 1,800-2,800rpm. This time, Mahindra has also added an eco mode to the powertrain.

The eco mode is designed to improve the fuel efficiency figures of the upcoming Mahindra TUV 300 Plus SUV by restricting the engine's peak power to just 95bhp at 3,600rpm.

Apart from this, the leaked documents reveal the gross vehicle weight of the upcoming Mahindra Bolero Neo Plus to be at Rs 2,390kgs.

In terms of dimensions, the Mahindra Bolero Neo Plus measures 4,400mm in length, 1,795mm in width, and 1,812mm in height. Also, the wheelbase of the upcoming new Mahindra Bolero Neo stands at 2,680mm.

Other than this, the upcoming new Mahindra Bolero Neo is available in 6 different variants out of which one variant is the ambulance version of the SUV.

When launched, the upcoming new Mahindra Bolero Neo Plus will compete against other 3-row vehicles such as the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, Kia Carens and a few more.

At present, the Mahindra Bolero Neo is priced from Rs 9.3 lakh to Rs 11.8 lakh (ex-showroom, India), So, pricing-wise we expect Mahindra to price the Bolero Neo Plus at Rs 1 lakh premium to the Bolero Neo sub-4m SUV.

Given Mahindra has already homologated the SUV, we expect the automaker to launch the new Mahindra Bolero Neo Plus soon in the Indian automobile market.

Thoughts About The Upcoming New Mahindra Bolero Neo Plus

Given the 'Bolero' nameplate, we expect the upcoming new Mahindra Bolero Neo Plus to perform much better in the Indian automobile market compared to its predecessor.
