Log9 Materials Signs MoU With EKA: EKA E9 Electric Buses To Be Equipped With RapidX Battery Pack
Log9 Materials has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with EKA. Under this new partnership, Log9 Materials will supply RapidX battery packs for the EKA E9 electric buses and upcoming Light Commercial Vehicles.

Thanks to the InstaCharge technology used in the RapidX battery packs, these battery packs take less than 30 minutes to charge. Apart from that, the RapidX battery packs come with 15 years warranty and can last more than 15,000 charge-discharge cycles.

The partnership is targeting to deploy at least 10,000 LCVs and more than 200 electric buses with InstaCharge enabled RapidX battery packs in one year. However, these buses and LCVs will be initially deployed in Mumbai and Pune regions.

According to Log9 Materials, Log9 batteries will be available in the market in the next 3 to 6 months and the company claims these batteries can charge 9X faster, 9X battery life and also provide 9X performance. In addition to that, the company also claims that these battery packs can operate between temperatures ranging from -30°C to 60°C.

Speaking about EKA, the company is a subsidiary of Pinnacle Industries and the company itself is among the three commercial vehicle companies approved under the Champion OEM scheme under the Auto PLI policy.

EKA recently introduced its 9-metre long, E9 electric bus. According to the company, the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) of the EKA E9 electric buses is lower than conventional buses available in the market.

One of the major advantages of using the RapidX battery packs on electric vehicles is the reduced charging time compared to other types of battery packs available in the market. This reduced charging time of the InstaCharge technology significantly reduces downtime and maximises the running hours for maximum efficiency and profit.

Recently, Log9 Materials also collaborated with IIT-Delhi to promote superlative research and development in the areas of developing advanced battery and energy storage solutions. According to sources, Log9 Materials has already signed a three-year strategic collaboration with the Centre for Automotive Research and Tribology (CART) at the IIT-Delhi.

As per Log9 Materials, Delhi Research Implementation and Innovation Foundation has agreed to facilitate long-term collaboration as they will work on a variety of academic and industry-oriented projects in the coming years.

In addition to that, Log9 Materials has also partnered with Spareit, through which the company will launch its battery replacement and retro fitment services in the country. With this partnership, Log9 Materials will be rolling out its battery replacement and fitment service through the SpareIt service network across India.

Also, thanks to the partnership between Log9 Materials and Spareit, Log9 Materials will gain access to 100+ EV-friendly garages in India with access to electric vehicle charging points in eight cities.
