The Lamborghini Urus Performante continues to draw power from a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 that now pushes out 657bhp, 16bhp more than the regular Urus. Peak torque remains unchanged at a very healthy 850Nm. Power is sent to all four wheels via an 8-speed automatic gearbox.

The Lamborghini Urus Performante can sprint from 0-100km/h in a claimed 3.3 seconds which is 0.3 seconds faster than the standard car. The 0-200km/h sprint takes 11.5 seconds. The top speed of the Urus Performante remains unchanged at 306km/h.

In addition to the regular driving modes found on the standard Urus, the new Performante model gains a new Rally mode which takes the fun-to-drive sportiness of the SUV to a thrilling new level on dirt tracks. Lamborghini claims the new mode amplifies the oversteer characteristics of the Urus Performante by optimizing the anti-roll and damping systems for the steel spring suspension setup.

The Urus Performante rides on lightweight 22-inch alloy wheels as standard that come fitted with Pirelli P Zero Trofeo R 285/40 R22 (front) and 325/35 R22 (rear) tyres. These Trofeo R tyres fitted to the Urus Performante are the first time that Pirelli (in cooperation with Lamborghini) has developed its semi-slick tyre compound for an SUV.

The new Lamborghini Urus is 5,137mm long, 2,026mm wide, and 1,618mm tall. The wheelbase of the Urus Performante is 3,006mm long and the super SUV weighs 2,150 kilos.

The new Lamborghini Urus Performante is 25mm longer, has a 16mm wider track, and is 47 kilos lighter (thanks to a whole load of carbon-fibre parts) than the standard Urus. The new Urus Performante also sits 20mm lower to the ground.

Lamborghini Urus Performante Design

The Lamborghini Urus Performante features a very subtle update in terms of looks which is quite unlike the Italian marque. The new Urus Performante sports a new carbon fibre bonnet with vents that help increase cooling for the more powerful engine. The Urus also sports an updated front bumper with a new air curtain.

There are three design wheel options for the new Urus Performante - two that measure 22inch while the third is larger at 23 inches. The wider track of the Urus Performante has ensured that the SUV features wheelarches finished in carbon fibre.

At the rear, the Urus Performante sports a new rear wing with carbon fibre fins that is inspired by the Aventador SVJ. The wing increases downforce levels by 38 per cent. The Urus Performante also sports a rear bumper and diffuser done up in carbon fibre as well as a lightweight titanium exhaust system provided by Akrapovic.

Step inside the new Urus Performante from Lamborghini and and you'll be greeted by black Alcantara upholstery with hexagonal stitching and the new 'Performante' trim. The Urus Performante sports an exterior bi-colour paint scheme with the door handles, air vents, spoiler lip and the bonnet all finished in black to help differentiate the new model from the standard Urus.
