Italian supercar manufacturer Lamborghini has released the first teaser for its upcoming Sterrato supercar. The rally-prepped Lamborghini Sterrato is shown taking on a dirt bike on some loose terrain.

The Lamborghini Sterrato was unveiled back in 2019 in concept guise. The first teaser video for the new Huracan-based Sterrato dubbed beyond the concrete reveals what the rally-prepped supercar will look like when it arrives in the near future.

The teaser video shows what all has been done to transform the Huracan into the rally-prepped Sterrato. Up front, like in the concept car, there are two additional LED lights on the front bumper of the Huracan on stilts.

The near production-spec Sterrato though has lost the large lightbar that was seen on the roof of the concept car. Instead the car sports a large central air intake inspired by the one seen on the STO.

The Sterrato retains the flared wheelarches of the concept but has lost the front and rear skid plates as well as the Titanium roll cage of the concept vehicle. Like in the concept car, the wheelarches are unpainted and play host to smaller wheels (compared to the Huracan) shod with chunky tyres that combined with the raised ride height.

This along with the raised ground clearance (47mm more than the Huracan) and the all-wheel drive system is what helps the Sterrato take to the loose gravel roads seen on the teaser video.

The Lamborghini Sterrato will be powered by Lamborghini's vocal 5.2-litre V10 engine that produces 631bhp at 8,000rpm and 600Nm of peak torque at 6,500rpm in the EVO & STO guises of the Huracan. The Sterrato will sport the Huracan's seven-speed dual clutch gearbox that will send power to all four wheels. The Sterrato is expected to have an off-roading mode similar to the one found on the Urus.

The Lamborghini Sterrato is expected to arrive later this year as possibly the final hurrah for the Huracan platform before it goes hybrid in 2024.

Thoughts About The Lamborghini Sterrato

The Lamborghini Huracan Sterrato sees the Sant'Agata Bolognese based supercar manufacturer step back into the world of rallying for the first time since the 1970s when it dabbled with the off-roading sport with special desert version of the Jarama grand tourer and Urraco sports car.

The new rally-prepped supercar may very well be the Huracan platform's final hurrah and the last time we hear that glorious 5.2-litre V10 and it looks like Lamborghini is ensuring it goes out in style with the Sterrato.
