Kia Hikes Prices Of Its Cars: Price Hike Up To Rs 54000
Kia has hiked the prices of its cars up to Rs 54,000. The price hike is applicable to all their current products in India. At present, the South Korean car manufacturer has two SUVs and one luxury MPV — Seltos, Sonet and Carnival.
Kia is a relatively new brand in the Indian automotive market and the South Korean brand made its debut during an automobile sales slump. However, the brand quickly gained the acceptance of Indian consumers and the Kia Seltos became one of the best-selling SUVs in the country.
Moreover, the South Korean car manufacturer achieved the 1 lakh vehicle sales milestone within nine months of its operations in the country.
Speaking about the Kia Seltos, the 5-seater mid-size SUV shares its platform with the Hyundai Creta and competes against the likes of Skoda Kushaq, Volkswagen Taigun, MG Astor, and Hyundai Creta.

The Kia Seltos comes with three engine options. The 1.5-litre diesel engine produces 113.45bhp and 250Nm of torque, whereas the 1.5-litre petrol unit pushes out 113.18bhp and 144Nm of torque. There is also a much more potent turbocharged 1.4-litre petrol engine with 138.12 bhp and 242Nm of torque. All engines can be specified with either an automatic or manual transmission.
Kia Seltos also comes up as one of the best-equipped SUVs in its segment with features such as Six Airbags & ESC/VSM/HAC, BOSE premium 8 speaker system, 360-degree camera, Blind view Monitor, front parking sensors and many more.
Kia Seltos has witnessed a price hike of up to Rs 11,000, however, it is limited to just HTK and GTX= automatic variants. Surprisingly, the X-line DCT variant of the Kia Seltos is now dearer by Rs 6,000.
On the other hand, the GTX+ variants of Kia Sonet has witnessed a price hike of Rs 24,000, whereas some variants of Kia Sonet did not receive any price revisions.

The Kia Sonet is one of the most feature-rich sub-4m SUVs in India and comes with features such as an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment unit with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, automatic climate control, digital instrument cluster, power-adjustable rearview mirror, keyless entry, engine Start/Stop button, Cruise Control, rear AC vents, multi-function steering wheel and many more.
The 1.5-litre diesel engine in the Kia Sonet puts out 99bhp and 250Nm of torque when mated to a 6-speed manual transmission, whereas the same engine pushes out 114bhp when mated to a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission.
On the other hand, the 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine produces 118bhp and 172Nm of torque. This engine is available with either a 6-speed clutchless iMT manual transmission or a quick shifting 7-speed DCT gearbox.
Finally, coming to the Kia Carnival, the luxury MPV received a uniform price hike of Rs 50,000 on all variants except the base Premium variant which received a price hike of Rs 54,000.

Powering the Kia Carnival is a 2.2-litre diesel engine with 198bhp and 440Nm of torque. This engine comes mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission as standard.
The Kia Carnival is available in 7-seater VIP seating, 8-Seater, and 9-seater configurations. Being a luxury MPV, the Kia Carnival comes with features such as a dual sunroof, 3-zone climate control, air purifier, touchscreen infotainment system, connected car techs, and many more.
