Kia EV6 Brochure Leaked Online: More Than 500Kms On A Single Charge
The brochure of the upcoming Kia EV6 electric crossover has been leaked online. The leaked brochure of the upcoming electric crossover from Kia reveals various details such as range, charging time, performance, colour options, interior upholstery, features, safety and much more.
Kia has already filed trademarks for the 'EV6' moniker in India and the South Korean automaker is gearing up for the launch of the Kia EV6 in India. Moreover, it will be the South Korean automaker's first electric vehicle in the Indian automobile market and will be brought to India as a CBU model.
Contradictory to the trademarks filed by Kia Motors, Kia will be launching the Kia EV6 electric crossover in just 1 trim level, which is the top-end, GT Line. However, we expect the lower variants to be launched later.
As per the leaked documents, the upcoming Kia EV6 electric crossover will be equipped with the larger 77.4kWh battery pack instead of the base 58kWh battery pack. Thanks to this larger battery pack, the Kia EV6 electric crossover can do 528kms on a fully charged battery pack.
Apart from that, the leaked brochure also reveals that the upcoming Kia EV6 crossover can add 100kms to range in just 4.5 minutes and can catapult itself to 100km/h from a standstill in just 3.5 seconds.
In international markets, the Kia EV6 is available in three powertrain configurations, the base model of the Kia E6 is offered with a 58kWh battery pack mated to a rear-mounted 167bhp electric motor with 349Nm of peak torque.
The Kia EV6 with this set-up can reach 100km/h from a standstill in just 8 seconds and reach a top speed of 185km/h. In addition to that, this powertrain set-up will give the electric crossover a claimed range of 373kms.
Apart from that, the brochure also reveals the specifications of both RWD and AWD variants. According to the leaked brochure, the RWD variant uses a single Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (PMSM) with 226bhp of power and 350Nm of torque.
On the other hand, the AWD variant of the Kia EV6 crossover comes with two PMSM electric motors with a combined output of 321bhp and 605Nm of torque.
The leaked brochure claims that the Kia EV6 crossover takes 73minutes to charge from 10 per cent to 80 per cent using a 50kW DC charger. However, this time is reduced to just 18 minutes using a 150kW DC charger.
In terms of safety, the upcoming Kia EV6 crossover comes with safety systems such as 8 airbags, ABS, ESC, Hill-Star Assist, Multi Collision Brake Assist, electronic parking brake, ISOFIX child seats, ADAS and much more.
In addition to that, the upcoming Kia EV6 comes equipped with features such as all-LED lighting, 64-colour ambient lighting, a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment unit with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, dual-zone climate control, multiple drive modes, 12.3-inch driver's display and much more.
As mentioned, the upcoming Kia E6 electric crossover will come to India as a CBU model at present as the Kia's manufacturing facility in Andrapradesh is already in full swing to produce the Kia Carens, Kia Sonet, Kia Seltos, and Kia Carnival models for both domestic and international markets.
However, Kia may soon expand the manufacturing plant in Andrapradesh to make room for assembling the Kia EV6 electric crossover.
We expect the upcoming Kia EV6 crossover to be priced anywhere between Rs 40 lakh to Rs 50 lakh, ex-showroom.
Thoughts About Kia EV6 Coming To India
The launch of the Kia EV6 crossover will play a crucial role in shaping up the premium EV segment in the Indian automobile market. Apart from that, we expect the upcoming Kia EV6 will give tough competition to entry-level premium vehicles.
