Jeep Compass And Compass Trailhawk Prices Hiked: Wrangler Prices Unaffected
Jeep has hiked the prices of the Jeep Compass and Jeep Compass Trailhawk SUVs in India. Thanks to the latest price hike, the Jeep Compass pricing now ranges between Rs 18.04 lakh (ex-showroom, India) to Rs 29.59 lakh (ex-showroom, India).

Though it is a general practice in the automotive industry to hike the prices of cars during the start of the new financial year, Jeep has not hiked the prices of the Wrangler SUV and the prices for the Jeep Wrangler still continue to range between Rs 56.35 lakh (ex-showroom, India) to Rs 60.35 lakh (ex-showroom, India).

In terms of price hikes, Jeep has increased the prices of Jeep Compass and Jeep Compass Trailhawk by Rs 25,000.

Moreover, post the price hike, the newly launched Jeep Compass Trailhawk is priced at Rs 30.97 lakh (ex-showroom, India). Though the Jeep Compass Trailhawk is not a completely new model, it does look a bit more off-road ready with its silver-coloured bash plate, a new 7-slat front grille, a new front bumper, two red tow hooks and a few more elements.

Other changes on the exterior of the new Jeep Compass Trailhawk include a pair of new sleeker-looking LED projector headlamps with integrated DRLs, a set of new more rugged-looking alloy wheels, anti-glare matte-finish graphics on the bonnet, black roof, redesigned rear bumper.

Moving inside the new Jeep Compass Trailhawk, it is clear that the interior of the Jeep Compass Trailhawk is based on the top-spec ‘S' trim of the Jeep Compass. This means the Jeep Compass Trailhawk comes with all the bells and whistles such as a large 10.25 inch floating touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, an equally large fully digital instrument cluster, Uconnect 5 connected car features, a panoramic sunroof, 360-degree camera, etc.

In addition to this long list of features, the new Jeep Compass Trailhawk also comes packed with features such as parking sensors, ventilated front seats, dual-zone climate control, wireless charging pad and many more.

Powering the new Jeep Compass Trailhawk SUV is the tried-and-tested diesel powertrain from the standard Jeep Compass sold in India. This 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder, turbocharged diesel engine produces 170bhp of peak power and 350Nm of peak torque and comes mated to a 9-speed automatic gearbox as standard.

Thanks to the Jeep's SelecTerrarin 4WD system, the power is channelled to all four wheels and the system also comes with an additional ‘Rock' mode for more extreme off-roading.

Apart from that, the new Jeep Compass Trailhawk has been raised to give 205mm of ground clearance and the new reprofiled front and rear bumpers give the Trailhawk a better approach, departure and break-over angles than the standard Jeep Compass.

Also, Jeep is gearing up to launch the Meridian SUV in India. Speaking about the Jeep meridian, the SUV is the 7-seater version of the Jeep Compass.

Thoughts About Jeep's Price Hike In India
Jeep is a very successful brand in India and the launch of the 7-seater Jeep Meridian SUV will be crucial for Jeep's future in India. However, we do not expect the recent price hike to affect the sales performance of Jeep in India.
