2022 Paris Motor Show - Jeep Avenger 4x4 Concept Revealed

American SUV manufacturer Jeep has revealed the Avenger 4x4 electric SUV concept at the Paris Motor Show. The Avenger 4x4 Concept SUV previews the electric Jeep's future 4xe all-wheel drive model.
The Jeep Avenger 4x4 concept is based on the Stellantis' e-CMP platform which also underpins other vehicles from the automotive conglomerate including the Peugeot e-2008. However, Jeep's evolution of the platform has allowed it to add four-wheel drive to the platform, which allowed Jeep to showcase a 4x4 version of the Avenger SUV which is also making its public debut at the 2022 Paris Motor Show.
The Avenger 4x4 concept looks a lot wider than the regular electric SUV that bears the same nameplate. This is mainly thanks to the widened track and wheelarches that help house the chunky all-terrain tyres of the concept car.
To help the Avenger 4x4 concept car tackle tough terrain, Jeep has improved the approach, breakover and departure angles of the concept compared to the regular SUV to 21 degrees, 20 degrees and 34 degrees respectively. The ground clearance of the Avenger 4x4 concept now sits above 200mm further boosting its off-roading creds.
The Avenger 4x4 also sports quite a few cosmetic changes that also help it deal with the rough stuff like tow hooks, the thicker cladding for the front bumper and the added floodlights that are built right into it.
Other changes to the Avenger 4x4 concept come in the form of a new lightweight roof cargo system concept that uses a special belt system to compress the luggage on the roof and has scratch-proof protection along its entire length. Another cool feature is the sticker on the bonnet that helps reduce the glare on the windshield and the anti-scratch treatment for the grille.
Jeep is keeping mum on the Avenger 4x4's powertrain but the production model that we expect to bear the recently revealed 4xe branding for Jeep's electrified all-wheel-drive models to feature a dual motor setup when it does arrive sometime in the future. Whether or not, the Avenger 4xe will be a hybrid or a pure EV is also still up in the air, though we do expect Jeep to go down the pure EV route.

The Avenger 4x4 concept gives us a look at what an all-wheel drive version of Jeep's newest SUV could look like when it hits the roads in the future. If the actual production car can be anything as good as this thing promises to be, we sure as hell would want to drive it.
