Hyundai Gearing Up To Launch New Base Variant Of The Alcazar SUV
In a bid to further improve the sales of the Hyundai Alcazar SUV in India, Hyundai is gearing up to launch the 'Executive' variant of the SUV. This new variant of the Hyundai Alcazar SUV will be the new base variant with a lower price tag.

At present, the Hyundai Alcazar price range starts from Rs 16.44 lakh (ex-showroom, India), and the creation of this new variant will make the SUV more accessible to a wider range of audiences, thus improving the sales of the SUV.

Though the Hyundai Alcazar is ahead of Tata Safari and MG Hector in terms of sales volume, Hyundai aims to further improve the sales figures of the SUV.

According to the leaked specifications, the upcoming 'Executive' variant of the Hyundai Alcazar SUV is available in both petrol and diesel powertrain options. However, the automatic transmission is available only with the diesel variant of the SUV.

We expect the upcoming new base variant of the Hyundai Alcazar to miss out on a few features on both inside and outside.

Starting with the outside, we expect the upcoming new base variant of the Hyundai Alcazar will lose a few design and functional elements such as the dual-tone colour option, side foot step, puddle lamp, rear spoiler, shark fin antenna, roof rails and a few more.

On the inside, the new base variant is also expected to lose more than a few features and premium-looking bits such as the brown and black leather upholstery, electronic parking brake, ventilated front seats, air purifier, 2nd-row hand rests, connected car tech, and the large 10.25-inch infotainment touchscreen.

To further improve the sales, Hyundai has been testing the CNG variant of the Hyundai Alcazar in India.

As per the spy shots of the Alcazar CNG, the design of the CNG variant of the SUV remains identical to the standard variant of the Alcazar SUV, which in turn is based on the highly successful Hyundai Creta SUV.

Speaking about Hyundai Alcazar, the 3-row SUV looks substantially more premium and bigger than the Hyundai Creta - Courtesy of its redesigned front grille and taller roofline.

Moreover, the Hyundai Alcazar comes with two engine options, where the 1.5-litre turbocharged diesel engine produces 113.45bhp of peak power and 250Nm of peak torque, whereas the 2.0-litre naturally-aspirated petrol engine produces 156.90bhp of peak power and 191Nm of peak torque.

Though both these engines come with a choice of 6-speed manual and 6-speed torque converter automatic transmissions, the CNG variant will come with 6-speed manual gearbox only.

Thoughts About Upcoming Hyundai Alcazar 'Executive'
The Hyundai Alcazar 'Executive' will make the SUV more accessible to a majority of customers in the country. This will improve the sales figures of the SUV by a considerable margin and we expect the addition of this variant will help improve overall sales figures to regain its 2nd position in MoM market share.
