Force Urbania Debuts – 25 First-In-Segment Features
Force Motors is the leading van manufacturer in India with a significant market share.
Moreover the company's iconic van, the Force Traveller was introduced way back in 1987 and the model still retains its iconic silhouette that has been a favourite for many fleet operators in India.
Saving lives as an ambulance to ferrying IT employees, the Force Traveller has been a very popular people mover in the country. Hence, a new people mover from Force Motors is an eye-popper for many people in the country.
Speaking about the Urbania, the model was recently showcased at a dealers meet organised in Indore. Moreover, even the test drive of the new Urbania was offered for the select dealers who attended the event.
However, this is not the first time the Urbania has been shown to the public. Earlier, the Urbania was showcased at the 2020 Auto Expo. However, further development and plans were delayed due to the pandemic.
Diving into details, Urbania hosts many first-in-segment features and it is the country's first fully ground-up modular monocoque panel van platform. It is also the first van in the country to achieve compliance with crash, rollover and pedestrian safety regulations.
Moreover, the Urbania comes with safety features such as hill hold assist, ESP, ABS, EBD, ETDC, all-wheel ventilated disc brakes, dual airbags, and much more.
Moreover, comfort has also been given a lot of priority with features such as independent front suspension with transverse springs, individual AC vents, reclining seats, sealed panoramic windows, individual reading lamps, multiple USB ports, telescopic adjustable steering column, ergonomically designed cockpit, dashboard-mounted gear lever, a large 7-inch touchscreen system with built-in Bluetooth and camera inputs, engine start-stop system, reverse park assistance system and much more.
To further improve the comfort and reduce the NVH levels inside the cabin, the Urbania features a 2-box construction, where the engine is placed entirely outside. Furthermore, the Urbania is available in 10, 13, and 17-seater options.
Powering the Urbania is a Mercedes-derived FM 2.6 CR ED TCIC diesel engine. This powertrain comes mated to a 5-speed manual transmission and pushes out 114bhp of peak power and 350Nm of peak torque.
Thoughts About Force Urbania
The new Urbania is looking forward to dominating the segment by bringing in international standards. Furthermore, the Urbania seems like a trustworthy option for fleet operators looking to upgrade their Traveller.
