Ducati Diavel V4 Revealed - Diabolical Bruiser Get Even More Devilish

Italian motorcycle manufacturer Ducati has revealed the all-new Diavel V4. The new Ducati Diavel V4 ditches the 1260's V-Twin engine for the firm's liquid-cooled Granturismo V4 powerplant.
Ducati V4 Specs & Dimensions
The Ducati V4 is powered by the Bologna-based bikemaker's 1,158cc V4 engine which is 5 kilos lighter than the V-twin that powered the old Diavel 1260. The liquid-cooled, 90-degree V4 with a counter-rotating crankshaft and produces 166bhp at 10,750rpm and 126Nm of peak torque at 7,500rpm.
The new engine is paired with a 6-speed gearbox with straight-cut gears and Ducati Quick Shift for both up and downshifts. Also seen on the Diavel V4 is a hydraulically controlled slipper and self-servo wet multi-plate clutch.
The Ducati Diavel V4 features an aluminium monocoque frame suspended by a 50mm fully adjustable upside-down fork with 120mm of ta at the front. At the rear, you'll find a fully adjustable mono-shock and a single-sided aluminium swingarm. The rear wheel is offered up 145mm of travel.
The Ducati Diavel V4 rides on 17-inch light cast alloy wheels that are shod with Pirelli Diablo Rosso III tyres - 120/70 ZR17 (front) and 240/45 (rear).
To bring the all-new Diavel V4 to a complete halt from high speed, Ducati has fitted the bike with large twin 320mm disc brakes at the front with radially mounted Brembo Stylema monobloc 4-piston callipers. The rear wheel sports a 265mm single disc brake with Brembo 2-piston callipers. The brakes are aided by Cornering ABS.
The Ducati Diavel V4 is 13 kilos lighter than the outgoing Diavel 1260 and that is thanks to the 8 kilos shed all around the body and the 5 kilos cut down by switching to the V4 powerplant. However, the new Diavel is still quite a big bike weighing in at 236kg (kerb). The wheelbase of the Diavel V4 is 1,593mm long and the rider's seat sits 790mm above the ground.
For those looking for a bit more power at the local track meet, the optional Akrapovic Titanium exhaust system with its steel headers, titanium silencer and carbon fibre cover will ensure everyone else will need ear protectors. The exhaust system, which is not street legal drops the weight even further by 11 kilos and raises the power levels to an even crazier 177.5bhp.
The Ducati Diavel V4 sports a revised headlight design with the front light also sporting a new gloss plastic cover. The rear taillight occupies most of the exposed lower half section of the bike's tail.
The new Diavel V4 also comes packed with electronic aids like ABS and wheel control, launch control and cruise control. There are three power modes and our riding modes on offer all of which can be accessed using the all-new 5-inch TT instrument display. This display connects to your phone and can also offer turn-by-turn navigation.
Ducati hasn't yet revealed prices for the new Diavel V4 but has stated that the bike will start arriving in dealerships in January 2023.
Thoughts About The Ducati Diavel V4
The Ducati Diavel has always been a proper bruiser-style cruising motorcycle. With the arrival of the new V4 engine, the Ducati Diavel is meaner and lighter than ever before which should make it an even more interesting buy for a cruiser lover looking for something different.
