Commercial Vehicle Sales September 2022 - Registers Positive Growth
In September 2022, Commercial Vehicle sales witnessed an overall positive YoY and MoM growth at 18.9 per cent and 6 per cent, respectively. Moreover, Tata Motors, Mahindra and Ashok Leyland yet again seal the top three spots.

Tata Motors (28,615 units)
Tata Motors yet again leads the sales chart by selling 28,615 units of commercial vehicles in September 2022, which is 3,793 units more than what the company has managed to sell in September 2021, resulting in a YoY sales improvement of more than 15 per cent. In addition to that, MoM sales saw an improvement of 4 per cent as the company managed to sell just 27,482 units in August 2022.

Mahindra (17,483 units)
Mahindra sold 17,483 units in September 2022, resulting in a YoY sales increase of almost 50 per cent as the company could manage to sell just 11,678 units of its commercial vehicles in September 2021. On the other hand, MoM sales figures are up by 858 units, resulting in 5.1 per cent MoM sales growth.

Ashok Leyland (11,284 units)
By managing to sell 11,284 units in September 2022, Ashok Leyland performed exceptionally well and once again held on to the third spot. Apart from that YoY sales also improved by almost 6 per cent. Also, MoM sales figures have gone up by almost 11 per cent.

VECV (4,638 units)
Volvo Eicher Commercial Vehicles (VECV) have been steadily growing in the Indian market. In September 2022, 4,638 units of commercial vehicles were sold by Volvo and Eicher. In terms of growth, VECV registered a YoY sales growth of more than 8 per cent last month.

Maruti (3,036 units)
Though Maruti is a market leader in the passenger vehicle segment, the automaker is struggling to make a similar impact in the Commercial Vehicle segment as it managed to sell just 3,036 units in September 2022. Moreover, YoY sales have dipped by more than 22 per cent. However, MoM sales figures have improved by almost 14 per cent.

Daimler (1,162 units)
Daimler Motors is in a distant sixth spot in terms of commercial vehicle sales figures in India. However, YoY sales figures have dipped by more than 7 per cent as the company managed to sell 1,162 units in September 2022, which is 92 units less than what the company managed to sell last year in September 2021. However, MoM sales figures are up by 16.3 per cent.

Force Motors (984 units)
Force Motors sold 984 units of Commercial Vehicles in September 2022, resulting in a YoY sales increase of more than 14 per cent. During the sale time last year, the company managed to sell just 861 units. However, MoM sales are down by almost 19 per cent as the company managed to sell 1,208 units in August 2022.

Isuzu (725 units)
Isuzu commercial vehicles managed to sell 725 units in September 2022, resulting in YoY growth of almost 24 per cent as the company managed to sell 140 units more compared to September 2021. However, MoM sales figures are down by almost 14 per cent as the company managed to sell just 842 units in August 2022.

Thoughts About Commercial Vehicle Sales In September 2022
The commercial vehicle segment has shown very positive growth in September 2022 and we expect this segment to continue its current trajectory for a few more years.
